  1. Howdy Nuggets fans!

Huge Russ fan, also lifelong Lakers fan!

You guys are getting a basketball player!

Clearly he is better when he is on the ball rather than off the ball but he has been trying to be effective off the ball in recent years(one season in Houston, a season and a half with The Lakers, and most of last season with The Clippers)

So he has roughly 3.5 seasons playing off the ball a lot.

I think Coach Malone and Russ are similar personality types so they will get along well.

You guys have a nice core four in Jokic, Murray, AG, and MPJ…..Russ is a nice piece for your 8-9 player postseason rotation and can start if there is an injury to Murray(or he's being load managed)

I think Braun, Strawther, and Saric are the players The Nuggets really need to hold their own. Russ will hold his own.

I think one more quality vet, maybe a big might be needed?

Gonna be a lot of fun to watch!

  2. It feels the organization knows that right now Jamal needs to be better if they want a clean championship run. No matter who they sign, if Jamal is getting shut out, the nuggets are going to lose series against the top teams. It sucks cause like with most players, he lost a step and he just isn’t finishing at the rim like he used to. These recent moves feel like they believe Jamal will take that step forward like he did in the championship run, but I’m starting to have doubts. Glad they got 1 though

  3. I admit I haven't watched westbrook and recent years, does he get to the line? I feel he could be a rubio at cavs type player. Vet who can run the offence.

  4. La realidad es que hoy somos peor equipo que hace un mes. Dallas Okc Wolves Celtics o Bucks no son peores que hace un mes.

  5. I’m gonna tell y’all right now Russ is NOT the savior😂 he’ll be better than Reggie but Mike Malone is gonna have to cook up masterpieces in order to fit him in the system

  6. Russ will be a replacement for Murray soon enough. He will look fantastic with Jokic, and it'll show really quickly.

  7. Signing Murray for guaranteed five years is a sure way to sink any chance of Nuggets achieving anything, and wasting Jokic's best years.

  8. Just imagine… Westbrook wins a ring with Joker. Something that he couldn't do with LeBron, Harden, AD, PG, Kavaji, KD… ESPN would burst a proverbial aneurysm 😂 and Joker's legacy would be that much bigger

  9. Nuggets NEED russ and his energy, they just do. They lost kcp but fixed their bench with russ, saric. Braun as a starter is a bit of a question mark but he was ok last season.

  10. I think that’s not going to help the nuggets bad choice. I think the joker should have a choice to pick a player that will help him period.

  11. Julian is gonna be the Key with Watson. Russ just has to act the rim. Our bench with a healthy vlatko is gonna be Really Good.

  12. We are one shooter away from me being real confident again. Could be a trade using Zekes contract or a step up from someone like Strawther. Just need a threat to space the floor and make defense pay/honest.

  13. Question to all the fellow nuggets fans here: when you can sign a “good” player at league minimum without any competition from the other 28 teams, and you can even wait to sign him for another 1-2 million less by delaying the whole process. And this “good” player so happen to fail miserably in his past two teams. What does that mean? Either the other 28 team GMs are so stupid to overlook this “good” player, or his previous two teams have deliberately failed him on purpose, or this so called “good” player has some hidden deficiencies that you are not aware of?

Sometimes you assume that a player, even at league min contract, can at least not bring any negative contributions to a team if he plays hard and bring energy. Ie the worst he can do is not scoring and not defending. But in the case for Russ, you will have probably have a new understanding of this logic.

As unique as Jokic is to “unlock” unwanted player’s talents, there’s so much you can do for someone who can’t score 2 feet away from basket. And Denver is not a good 3 pt shooting team in the very first place.

I thought the nuggets are targeting to win a championship this season. If so, all id say is good luck with your new “energy” addition.

  14. gonna be interesting to see how ur perspective changes in heougout the year cause it don’t really seem like you know much about russ or his game

  15. amazing fit for jamal russ can be the primary POA defender instead of jamal takes a lot of pressure off of him

  16. Russ failed with his last 3 teams and is now 36. He considered free agency, but his agent found nobody wanted to give Russ a multi-year contract or any contract at all really, so he signed his player option, forcing the Clippers to trade a 2nd round pick to get off his contract or buy him out. If he wants to play beyond this season, he has to come in and do everything right. If he pulls a Boogie Cousins and doesn't get along with the players, fans, and coaches, and the Nuggets let him walk at the end of the year and tell every GM in the league "Yeah, we tried, but Russ didn't cooperate" that's the end of Russ's career just like it was with Boogie. Russ has a golden opportunity to play with Jokic, look great, because everybody looks better playing with Jokic, and get some team to give him a 2 year contract or something. Or he could stay with the Nuggets for another year. That's why he wanted to come to Denver to play with Jokic. Players have noticed that Bruce Brown came to Denver, and got a $66 million deal from the Pacers, KCP got same from Orlando. Guys who play with Jokic get paid. Russ could too so he has every incentive to play nice.

  17. Expecting CB to be a sharp shooter would be like believing I'm going to wake up as a French person tomorrow. However watching his game all year I saw him working on it, struggle with it and then add a few things finally becoming successful as we approached the end of the season and into the post season. I don't think it's a fluke. He started finishing at the rim with some basic, but effective finishing moves. I also saw him get more confident and consistent with his 3 pt shot and I believe he can hit between 37-39 percent of his 3s next year. That's a bit optimistic, but it feels achievable. He won't be KCP from 3 though. Maybe Strawther will step up, his shot was looking great in Summer League. While I realize you can't assess a whole lot from summer league stats, I could tell he'd changed a few mechanics and it felt like it was working. I had the impression that he'll be more consistent next year. I'd love to see Strawther come off the bench and drain like 4 or 5 of them in 10 minutes during a game or two next year.

  18. I think thos is Westbrook's last year in the league, not because he's not good again because most likely he'll average 13pts 6 assist 5 rebounds this season.

But I think he's been home for better part of 4 years at his age and would rather be there. Also, I think his main goal is to play out his final contract.

    Enter top 20 all-time scoring

    Win a ring

    Reach 10,000 assist

    Reach 200 triple doubles

In that order, and if he gets 3 out of the 4, he'll hang it up.
