They added Klay Naji & Grimes. All amazing 3poimt shooters and defenders. great roster and one of the deepest bench ITL. They were just a few pieces away from beating Boston and I think they’ll be able to this time with hopefully a HEALTHY Luka and Kyrie getting over the hump. Whoever they met, they will beat. Another thing that will help defense is with improving our shooting we reduce the number of long rebounds. Those hurt us when it’s Luka or Kai having to guard the fast breaks

lol, y’all are funny. Imagine a world where 3 minutes into the game Kyrie gets subbed out for Grimes or “the knife” and then a couple minutes later Luka and Klay are subbed out. The NBA isn’t a 1 to 1 comp year to year. We aren’t switching DJJ for Klay we are switching out 40 minutes of two and three play of DJJ, Tim, and Josh for those three.
Does anyone really believe Klay is gonna have to try and hold top PG’s and SG’s for more than two to three minutes at a time? He’ll he asked to play his average defense (above average IMO) for a couple minutes to begin games and some times to finish games but other than that he will almost always have another one of those two with him(PJ notwithstanding). Our defense doesn’t do “shut down X player Klay” in the first place so why would we start that now? It’ll still be switch heavy communication based team defense that Klay’s basketball IQ should mesh with fine.

The most important thing will be staying healthy enough and winning enough games that Luka can play less minutes or have rest games. Him being ran ragged from having to play so much is one of the main things that took us down.
