Contracts Build Dynasties

Gilbert Arenas PRAISES Jalen Brunson for taking a team-friendly contract extension with the New York Knicks. Jalen Brunson takes less money to keep the Villanova “Nova” Knicks together. Gil says when you look at super teams and dynasties in the NBA there is always a star player taking less money to make it work. So this is a really good sign for the Knicks future and Jalen Brunson’s outlook on winning championships.

Gil’s Arena premieres every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30am PT / 2:30pm ET.

  1. Sure he took a “discount” but in return he gets to play with his core from college that won a national title, while also securing a top 3-5 defender in OG and still got Julius to either hop on the ship, or flip him for more assets. Win-win for both sides

  2. Just highlights Cuban is trash. Proved it when he sold the team to that treasonous family just like he proved it when he force J out of town.

  3. MJ and Scottie were the friendliest contacts. Every team would tell their free agent player, "we can't pay you more than MJ"

  4. I would take less money if i could get a deal under the table, so that the team would hire me as an assistance coach for the next 20yrs after i retire.

  5. There’s some context missing. His dad also works for the organization, plus Leon rose (Knicks gm) is Jalen’s literal god father.

You can say a lot about James Dolan, but you can’t say he’s cheap. There’s also no “salary cap” when paying your staff. I wouldn’t be suprised if Rick Brunson signs an extension for like 85mil over the next 4 years.
