  1. Over paid! He was so inconsistent in most parts of the playoffs and he was so ineffective, but if that is the market, then good for him.

  2. These guys are way overpaid, but it was a clear decision to bring back Sam and I’m glad he’s being acknowledged for his talents and efforts. I just pray he gets more playing time going forward. He’s an underrated defender as well.

  3. Just how are the Celtics going to be able to afford to keep EVERYONE after next season? They would need someone with incredibly deep pockets like Jeff Bezos to purchase the team

  4. This says 3 things for me:

    1. Horford will retire after next season. And Hauser's contract will fill that spot on payroll.

    2. Pags will probably take over the team. Even if richer guys come along, the league will do their best to block any sale of the team to guys like Larry Ellison, one of the richest men in the world. They do not want the organization able to take $200mill luxury taxes every year because they are owned by one of the top 10 richest men in the world.

    3. Within 3-4 seasons, we are gonna lose some of these guys. We will be compelled to break up the core by the expense of these luxury taxes.

I am happy we are keeping Hauser. Very happy. I hope we can make this team a dynasty before we have to start selling.

  5. It is a very good contract for both player and team. It's his improved defense that also makes this a very tradeable contract in the future if necessary.

  6. Sam didn’t play well in the playoffs. What’s next? He voted to Olympic team to Replace Embiid? I say let him walk. He can be replaced

  7. If Sheierman and Springer pans out, expect Hauser and Pritchard to be traded for lesser contracts. It may not be this season, but it will happen. Not trying to be negative or anything, just realistic about the future specifically from a financial stand point. Or maybe this is just Wyc's way of trying to turn buyers away.
