Like I said before, the Warriors don't have to stick with drafting and trading for NCAA and NBA players. There's talent all over the world. BAL has arrived. This close call is a testament to that.
More like draft based on needs and data. Player psychology is another factor. Sometimes players are there just to chase their first paycheck. That is why it is also better to draft sons of former players as they are more trained and used to the “pro athlete” life.

gonna go on a limb and guess you yourself couldnt name any african players that havent made the NBA/NCAA. This is just recency bias from yesterday’s tight exhibition game. If there is talent, other top leagues will scout these guys and give them a better pipeline to the NBA by developing them. The NCAA puts out better players than most of the next best international leagues combined, its one thing to find 7 footers and put a basketball in their hands. Its another thing to grow up in NA or EU where there is a pipeline for every age to compete at high level camps.
Also, what makes you think kerr would play any rookies in the first place? /s

A lot of the players for South Sudan grew up in the US and the only one who plays in the BAL is going to Duke next year.
There is obviously lots of basketball talent in Africa but for the most part it isn’t in the BAL because the guys who are good enough to make it come to the states for high school/college or start playing for European/Australian clubs before they’re eligible to be drafted

Kuminga was on the DR Congo team.
The issue with all the international players is how well they can adapt to the NBA game and fundamentals.
