This would mean that the bench lineup is Kolek, Deuce, Donte, Hart, (whoever the backup center is)

That’s a really small lineup. Don’t know if i like that very much, but hey who knows? maybe we can get away with that against opposing bench units.

  2. Lol, That conflicts with what he just said yesterday. So basically Brunson starts, Deuce is pencilled in as the backup (unless ofc he’s traded), the team likes both Cam and Kolek….either one can challenge for that spot.

It speaks to depth, which unfortunately probably means some package around McBride goes out at the deadline for a starting C. I love Mitch off the bench with this team and if McBride balls in the first half he could be extremely valuable at the deadline.

    >wHaT aBoUt DuEcE???

He’s not a PG, never has been or will be.

  5. Literal_Satan

I highly doubt he’s made a decision before training camp

  6. Ziglet_mir

This makes a lot more sense than the speculation around trading Deuce.

Had no idea Cam Payne had that weird incident with cops last month. Bro might have issues

We still have August and G, September and camp and THEN the season rotation comes into focus.

That said, talk of Kolek on the roster is really encouraging – his play suggests offensively he’s ready. But that talk perhaps means his defense is less a concern/liability or they are willing to find enough minutes for him to learn at the NBA level in early and mid season play.

I still hold out that Deuce is best used in a non facilitator/primary ball handler capacity and our roster construction allows for a lot of flexibility there. A smaller lineup with Kolek facilitating Deuce at off guard, one or two of OG/Hart/Bridges and maybe some Randle and a center or Randle at Center configuration could work nicely against certain teams/matchups during the regular season

Deuce is a point of attack defender who needs to play next to a lead ball handler at the level the Knicks want to meet.

If he shoots 41% from 3 and 86% from the free throw line again he will get plenty of time. No one leaves good on ball defenders who shoot over 40% from 3 on the bench. No need to worry about PT if that’s the case.

But if it’s 29% from 3 again there is no need to worry either. Because he won’t see the court anyway

This is a bunch of BS. The depth charts aren’t changing based on summer league performances 3 months before the season even begins. And also who really cares who’s the back up PG until like January?

  11. 6thmanbrandon

To simplify all this, Cam Payne is basically taking Alec Burks role

  12. Diligent-Cookie-1695

I know Ian used to be plugged in but I don’t really think he got sources in this current F.O. anymore, he just throws shit at the wall lol difference is he’s actually smart unlike Berman & the others

  13. rmccarthy10

Pre- season lineups and roster adjustments will be more telling then summer league and rumors

  14. Wait until the game 1 roster. I’m pretty sure that these people don’t know Thibs

  15. patrickthunnus

Does not jive well with how Thibs operates; you earn your minutes through practice in head to head competition (at this time of season).

Ty hasn’t played a minute of NBA ball, proven that he’s capable at that level.

  16. gregieb429

Kolek-Deuce-Devo-Hart-Bates Diop? I guess we’re going small unless Deuce gets traded for a big

  17. DuckDucks

    So a backup line of:
Kolek, Deuce, Donte, Hart, Precious/Sims, with Payne as a third stringer. Would be pretty cool.

Thib’s sweating hard thinking about it
