Has Giannis actually become underrated?

  1. Couldn’t care less what some YouTube opinion is. They’ll create a storyline where there isn’t one, just to generate traffic.

  2. Iā€™ve never heard anyone say heā€™s outside the top 3 players in the world. Hard to be underrated if youā€™re in that tier. I watched the Kenny vid, and he basically just outlined that the Bucks had a chaotic year.

    Underappreciatedā€¦ absolutely. Underratedā€¦ eh.

This is the Bucks sub, right?

Then Giannis is the GD GOAT; so, yes, heā€™s underrated

Top 1 in the league nuff said

Idk MVP talks have kinda fucked him over the past couple of seasons.

Iā€™d say so. He wasnā€™t even considered in the MVP race this year. Not saying he deserves it more than any other candidate, but what makes Jokic, Shai or Luka have a better case for MVP? Slightly better records?

Last years MVP race he was top 3, but Jokic vs Embiid dominated the votes/media. Again, not counting the others out, but Giannis had just as good of, if not a better campaign

Also, heā€™s one of if not the best defensive players in the league. Yet in the last two years he didnā€™t even make All-Defensive Second team. And the year Marcus Smart won, Giannis shouldā€™ve and he wasnā€™t even a top 3 candidate.

Iā€™ve never seen somebody hit with voter fatigue so quick. I just hope the Bucks can stay healthy this year.

Recency bias in US media has made it so. Being hurt in the playoffs 2 years in a row is not great for his coverage. The same thing happened to Kawhi, but he has a much longer history of not being able to play. However, people who actually watch the sport know better to underrate Giannis

Recency bias + heā€™s missed the playoffs with injuries for the last 2 years
