The 2019 trade that saw the Los Angeles Lakers acquire Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans was one of the most talked-about moves in NBA history. While it seemed like the Lakers gave up a lot at the time, including Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and multiple first-round picks, how has this trade panned out? Dive into how this blockbuster deal has impacted both teams and whether the Lakers truly came out on top.

Pelicans got the number 1 pick that year and it flopped too
It does not .. the reason you know this is because Vogel was fired immediately! That means literally no one considered that bubble ring to be the standard.. and now going into 2025 season, we know there will be no dominance, no dynasty and weโll be lucky to โget oneโ in a normal season.. even tho we have 2 HOF #Top75 max players on the roster at all times, many more passing thru ..
Lakeshow really shouldโve waited on AD in free agency .. we literally have nothing for years to come once Bron and AD are done except the lakers โจaura โจ.. on the flip side, Pels are a season or 2 from becoming Celtics west .. loaded at every position ๐ญ๐ญ
This casual. Lakers won a chip. You donks need to stop denying pels lost.
Josh Hart might have been a mistake fam
Great steal ๐๐๐๐ lol
Apparently, mr. commentator you have a massive beef ๐ฅฉ, or angst with the Lakers, James Snr. and now James Jnr.!!! I will now sit back and watch your blog post grow in numbers ๐ข๐ฎ๐๐๐
Hoping also, your expertise in basketballology will grow too. ๐ฎ
Hold up where did my fellow Aussie Dyson Daniels get traded???
Dude, how old is this, why did it fall on my feed ๐ค
It's a silly post, not nearly as bad as your anti W post, those are absolutely horrible.
But most of us NBA fans who are adults know, NOLA was up against it and had more to lose by not making this trade ๐ง so what is this for ๐คท๐พโโ๏ธ silly ass post. It's like it's personal, most certainly not basketball.
Naaaaaaa โฆ. But there is no way to be sure. ๐ข
I'm mad because I'm from Louisiana and I love the pels
This is the worst ball channel
Long term the Pels took a few kicks to the ass
Nope!!! Let's go ABA ๐ ๐บ๐ธ KENTUCKY.. Transylvania University
If you look at who Pels got in the long run Pels got a haul. They got BI, CJ, Herb Jones, and Murray. Yes Lakers got a championship but Griffin has done a great job of Maximizing the value.
It was the right move btw… Both a win-win
You mean Pels won the trade but then lost it internally making Lakers win the trade. Can you imagine if the lakers kept all their young players?
Still think lakers should of kept , ball , ingrim .
Could of gotten any big man next to bron and been fine and had extra cap space to move in free agency. But bron wwnted chips NOW and he only 1 .
Pelicans still have draft picks from Lakers and that's how they have their young core
Lol named him after a vacuum
Along with the understanding that they will receive the number 1 pick in the draft, ie. Zion
Your very unoriginal. You make the ending of your video match the beginning, you look like a guy that has not played basketball since you left school.
why are there so many braindeads in these comments, the lakers basically robbed them at the time, they won a chip bc they had 2 top 10 players and if it wasnt for some other braindead "hunt for superstar" move by pelinka that lakers team woulda been contenders every year (they are just dark horses now or ruin your run). the pelicans r so mediocre like they r a 5-8 seed in the west with no ring
Lakers won a ring but the Lakers should have owned the league after that trade. A.D. is always hurt
AD was on the last year of his contract. We going to walk for nothing if they didnโt trade him.
If LBJ was more patient, the LAL couldโve signed AD without giving up any assets. They were under the cap back then
Mmmm yes more Lakeshow propaganda baby ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
LeGM, back at it!
He was gonna leave in free agency next year anyways probably had no leverage
Sad thing is if AD was with a young Zion I think they would be unbeatable.
The Pelicans are the consistent team with โpotentialโ, and they never turn it into โkineticโ.
Bro just take a damn break. Ur doin too much atp. Wait til thereโs good content out u can bite off of other people. Repeating the same videos u just look unprofessional
Lakes should of held off on the trade because AD was coming to the lakers the following year anyway after his contract expired. AD wanted to be in LA!!!!
You left out 3rd pick overall Hunter to Antlanta
And AD won a championship for the Lakers ๐๐๐
Facts if I got 100 million Iโm all overseas for 5 years
Bro josh hart and brandon ingran are some amazingly mid players fr
Not a bad trade, just bad management by their front office
Not really robbing fair trade. New Orleans just didnโt do anything with the talent they got back
Pelicans f themselves ainโt nobody tell them go all in on fat player who canโt stay healthy
Are you just looking for clicks!?
How's the Lakers responsible for what the Pelicans did with players they got back 5 years after the trade? Get a life Mikey!
I see your point but the still made the playoffs
Thats a Haul Folks
Anthony Davis is not resigning. They got a superstar in Brandon Ingram and traded some pics away. Good trade in my book.
After the trade. LA only won one championship. So i think its a fair trade since pelicans has a future built roster
Pelicans didn't get lost in that trade. They won the trade but they didn't use those pieces well
La Did win a championship because of Davis
