[Trudell] Dalton Knecht, Bronny James and Maxwell Lewis will not play in today’s final summer league game in Vegas vs. Chicago. It’s a team medical decision based on volume of practices and games throughout the Cali Classic and Las Vegas.

Maybe a hot take but I think this stuff is kind of dumb unless they’re actually banged up. These are all young kids who will have lots of time off. I haven’t checked the stats, but I dont think the load management era has significantly reduced injury.

Not surprised ; injuries are more common than ever they’ve , not all teams play in 2 Summer Leagues; they want to get out safe . Fans are disappointed cuz they’re junkies but this was expected

I appreciate keeping these guys healthy, but they won’t see competitive play again until October.

At this point, I think the reps are more important.

  4. Doing this at that age is just teaching them to do it throughout the career. Used to be a lot of 82 game players but now players have gone soft with that mentality.

This a weak move on the Lakers part. Ideally, you wanna give them more runs and experience.

Clippers can have summer league banner 😂😂😂😂😂

Didn’t they get a rest yesterday? Why not include Castleton?

Not unless this is to give “others” on the Summer League roster to get a significant playing time.

It doesn’t even say they are injured it says it’s based in the volume of practices and games LOL. This is so embarrassing…

  9. goatnxtinline

It’s the last game, what are they doing?

  10. Yommination

Stupid. These young guys need all the court time they can get

Load management is starting really early in modern NBA lol

  12. White-Gravity

Man what. Load management in the fucking G League 🤦‍♂️

I get it. quit while you’re ahead. no need to spoil a hopeful run with the inevitable regression to the mean. makes good business and PR sense. soft as shit – but makes sense.

Not watching the Casttleton show and the Lewis brickfest.

I just don’t think I can will myself to tune in for this one. Knecht has been fun to watch and there are stakes involved with him, love him or hate him, Bronny was about the only player on this squad playing team basketball (and they’re are stakes involved), and at least Lewis has a team contract keeping him relevant, even if he is just going out and missing bad shots trying to get his.

I guess Castleton has some moments but his slight frame, little legs and long torso don’t seem to be a body type that I can ever see succeeding at C in the nba. For some reason it all just works out to him having what looks like a half inch vertical on the court. Everyone else might as well be playing one on one out there, mememememe basketball.

Load managing young adults, what happened to the game I love?

Maxwell Lewis and bronny being saved is egregious

Dude, these guys need as much run as possible to gain experience. What in the world? This load management thing is getting a bit out of hand. The only way to truly learn anything in life is by doing. The more they play the game, the faster the learning curve lessens.

  19. kennnn394

Saving them up for garbage time in regular season?

  20. Counterspell_God

They’ve got enough reps. I’m cool with it. Need to see Henson and Moses cook more.

  21. Peacewalker267

Kobe would’ve played every single game smh these players nowadays have changed for the worse.

Bronny took Dalton and the black Amex to Spearmint Rhino last night.
