The Spurs have really made a splash this NBA offseason landing Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes. Lauri Markkanen of the Utah Jazz has been linked to the Spurs all offeason as a big to pair alongside Victor Wembanyama. Reports have came out revealing the Trade package offered for a Lauri trade.

If you want value, you’re gonna have to give up value. Lauri is untouchable, but if you want him it’s gonna take some untouchables from your team as well. Castle, Vassel and ATL picks as the main piece of the trade is what it will take. Danny is not here to do anybody favors.

I think this would be a mistake. They might end up like Dallas in the first few years of their rebuild with Luka and instead of expediting their rebuild, they might end up prolonging it. I still think the Spurs should be patient and rebuild through the draft. They have a ton of picks for next year which is a stronger draft class, and still a ton of picks for the next 7 years after that. They still own all their first-round picks as well.
Spurs arent giving up for the farm for lauri. You give up the farm for a player like a giannis or a jokic or a luka. Lauri is not in the class. Spurs arent doing this trade

Laurie doesn’t line up with the wemby timeline. But who knows, maybe spurs are dumber than the warriors and give Ainge their whole future for a slower version of Blake griffin.

Lets make something clear – you don't give up a haul for a guy like Markkanen to be your 3rd or 4th option. He's 1A to Wemby, and everyone else gets behind them. It's an insult to discuss him as a 3rd/4th option anywhere. He's far better than that.

I’m of the opinion the spurs should wait another year before starting to spend the future cap space and draft capital. Just see what you’re looking at picks wise for 2025 and then reevaluate.
