Dallas Mavericks Offseason Recap: Klay Thompson, Spencer Dinwiddie, Naji Marshall, Quentin Grimes

The 2024 NBA offseason has been good to the Dallas Mavericks, especially in 2024 NBA Free Agency where the Mavs signed Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall and Spencer Dinwiddie. The Tim Hardaway Jr. trade for Quentin Grimes was a move they needed to make, while they took an intriguing prospect in Melvin Ajinca in the 2024 NBA Draft. Mavs GM Nico Harrison put together a roster that should compete for the 2025 NBA Finals, and on today’s show we take a look at the Dallas Mavericks offseason as a whole!

  2. Has to be an A . We knew we needed to adjust the roster and we’ve done so as best we could. Defense still strong and we added shooters.

  3. Bucks traded away championship backcourt defense in Holiday for a 34 y.o. Shooter. Sound familiar? Also, Jones defended 1s &2s mainly, after the trade. If Kidd makes Thompson The 6th Man and decides on a defensive 2/SG, sooner than later, I'll feel better about things.

The problem is, Kidd gives his veterans way too much rope, as we saw with hardaway and Powell. I just want Dallas to have a high-ranking seed from the beginning of the season, obviously for playoff implications, but it also lightens the load during the regular season for Kyrie and Luka.

  4. First clearly a better roster going into the season. But to return to the finals next year 1st Luka is not young in terms of how long he has been a professional basketball player truly he is around the 8 to 9 yr level if not more throwing in international games. Irving is what 32 or 33 yrs old. So if we are lucky we got these 2 at the top of their game for max 3 more years. Klay maybe gives us 3 quality years. So I kinda think 3 years are our window to win it all. I just cant give Nico or Kidd A grades. Nico why is Morris, Powell on this roster, many would even include Maxi. Id much rather see us put those 3 plus Lawson in a package and go get 1 player 3D veteran & either Kennard or Haywood (quality catch and shoot 3 pt shooters).
