The goal is to win a championship and this team did that so yea pretty good idea.

Team wins championship
Bring back the exact same team
Is this team capable of winning?
Rinse and repeat for two more years
blakezilla
Absolutely. With the exception of Al, Jrue, and maybe KP (thinking more that he has better health and more creative scheming around him), every other player still has upside to reach.
Bewilderbeest79
Barring somethin drastic happening, yes.
You only tinker with continuity if something isn’t working or free agents go elsewhere, from my basketball viewing experience.

Holiday-Usual-3600
Absolutely not they should have traded Tatum and brown and built around the great white, Pritchard, and Queta

Oshae and Svi coming back ?
rblythe999
No, if Brad really wanted to prove himself, he’d let everybody go and start from scratch.

Young enough at the right dough, keep with that Championship flow,,

They just won the Chip so am thinking its a good idea to run it back.

Yea for marketing purposes only. Sell the team after a championship. And sign everyone for 2-4 year window. Marketing at its best. Keep the core together and once they expire replace with the guys from Maine or big FA signings.
I_Set_3_Alarms
I can picture someone asking Brad this question and him looking back at them just like the photo in the thumbnail

The amount of people who still do not understand these extensions the last two years is wild. It’s simple.
– the new CBA has penalties in it to try and restrict good teams, from continuously adding additional good players. This is done by stripping teams in the apron of the MLE & tax payers MLE (previously used by over the cap teams as a way to add a high quality FA or 2 each offseason) and adjusting salary match for these teams where they now have to match 100% of the salary coming in with salary going out in a trade. This leaves teams with two options to add talent: vet min signings, where you’re not going to find high end talent, or trades which involve 100% salary match.
– because if the above, teams in the apron cannot afford to let any player walk in FA for nothing…. As they will not be able to replace that player.
– soooo, the Celtics have litterally re-signed every single player the past two offseasons. Many of them to contracts that are seen to be slightly over inflated (Pritchard at the time, Drue)… the reason is, the best and basically only assets they posses moving forward are “contracts”… bad teams usually could care less about the players they get in return, and a lot of the time just flip them or buy them out. The players going out are essentially just contracts to match money going the other way, with draft compensation the actual valuable return. More likely than not, most of these guys extended, will not see the end of their deals in Boston. And are more likely to be used in trades over the next 3 seasons to bring in a new cast to build around the Jays after this aging cast runs its course.

Lmfao title team brings everyone back after historic dominance with good vibes.
“Are they stupid?”
Ideal offseason for a championship team.
Comfortable-Zone3149
To keep the vibes immaculate? Im going with solid plan.

The obvious yes aside, yes. A team in this position needs to retain its assets. PP and Hauser represent actual assets in future trades for the next iteration around the Jays after Al, KP, and Jrue move on, likely in that order.

Not for the owners lol
Unless they raise all the prices for everything. It will be tough to even break even imo.

How could it be a bad idea? What are you talking about

No brainer if it ain’t broke then don’t fix it!

This was the only way to “improve the team”
Also investing in all the guys that got us a ring tells them you are all it. Our bench guys got a huge vote of confidence…you are the upgrade.
Basic-Taro-3194
93.7 was spewing that they wanted some different signings instead of bringing back “sam hauser”. They are insufferable at times.

Historically great team, yeah why would you fuck with that recipe
swank401
Considering a handful of our guys contracts combined is still less than what OG is getting from the Knicks, I’m not mad at Brad
