Castle is going to adjust quickly
The fact that they would take Alex Sarr at 1 and hope to teach him to be a better shooter and NOT even consider taking Kel'el Ware @8 is mind boggling. I said from day 1 Kel'el Ware was better than Sarr and so far I have been proven right. The Spurs obviously need another big in the front court and Ware, Edey, and Clingan were on the board. (Personally, IMO Ware has the most upside on both sides of the board.) Ware has been tremendous in summer league and earned 1st Team honors while leading Miami to the 2K24 Summer League championship. BTW, I'm good with Castle at 4. I said they should draft Castle at 4 and Ware at 8. So they hot it half right anyway.😂
I could see Risacher at 4 or 5, being basically the same prospect Harrison Barnes was at UNC, and never understood Atlanta taking him #1. Very thankful they did though since Washington would have probably taken Castle or Sheppard if ATL took Sarr and then Houston would have taken the other and I desperately wanted to come away with one of Castle or Sheppard from this draft. Still miffed they passed on Buzelis at 8, though if that Minnesota pick and Minnesota swap can help them land Markannen of course I'd be thrilled. If somehow the top 3 ended up being Sarr, Clingan, and Sheppard though I would have wanted to trade up with Detroit to get both Castle and Risacher at #4 and #5.
Castle is a superb pick for the Spurs as long as he is playing point guard. He really doesnt fit anywhere else on the Spurs team.

There's nothing wrong with his jump shot now (STEPHON CASTLE) though he's hitting his three point shot… I THINK HE WAS THE BEST PLAYER IN THIS DILUTED DRAFT…. i ALSO BELIEVE WE HAVE A DECENT SHOT AT COOPER FLAG as well……

The spurs didn't pick haliburton because of primo. Same thing with Buzelis because of sochan. I hope history will not repeat itself
Reed Sheppard is a scrub. Castle is gonna be a way better player
Unless the Spurs actually tell us the sequence of players on their draft board, which no team does, media and fans can only speculate.
