The legal battle of whether match just means $ or more will be interesting to see

  2. Will be interesting to see if they actually didn’t match the terms of Amazon’s offer or if it’s the NBA’s interpretation that they didn’t match the terms.

    There will be lawyers.

You’ve got HUGE shoes to fill Prime Video

Zaslav’s totally going to kill off the AEW deal for real

  5. Amazon is about to open the bag for the Inside the NBA crew

  6. bigbobo33

Regardless of a lawsuit, Zaslav and WBD bungled this shit so bad.

Zaslav played this like a fool and Silver isn’t gonna let him get away with it. Damn shame NBA on TNT & Inside the NBA are taking the fall for it.

I understand it’s anecdotal and I’m not the prime demo for the decision, but with as much talent as there is in the league I just don’t see myself going to Amazon instead of just picking a game on LP and being able to flip around unless Boston is over there. I also don’t think you’re going to get a ton of casual viewers on Prime.

The league has also done a shit job of increasing viewership, so I don’t think they’ve earned the benefit of the doubt. Maybe I’m just being salty about Inside ending, but that’s really the only reason I watched games on TNT so I don’t know what the pull is for Amazon.

Lawyers on both sides absolutely salivating

I wouldn’t be surprised if David Zaslav didn’t just do this to piss off Adam Silver

I’m trying to find it but I read recently that the Amazon package includes conference finals every other year whereas what wbd’s proposal was conference every year. That would constitute “not matching the terms”. Also, Amazon was global streaming vs wbd US streaming rights.

Do we know how many games Amazon is getting?

If Amazon broadcasts in 4k I literally don’t give a shit about the rest. I’m so tired of watching 720p NBA games. I bought my first 720p LCD tv in like 2001.

Can the WB CEO get fired now? I can’t think of one thing he has done right since taking over.

As someone who has Prime and no cable TV: 👍

Before the narrative goes crazy, David Zaslov didn’t want to negotiate with the NBA and said they didn’t need them. Amazon had to create a plan for the NBA that was outside of what NBC and others were already in line for, and at the last moment, WBD said they would match the monetary amount of Amazon which was the cheapest package available. But most likely don’t have the infrastructure or marketing budget to carry out the plan. Zalsov just wants to seem like he is trying to keep the NBA in good faith, where in actuality he doesn’t care as he has been slashing everything since he arrived.

  17. If TNT wanted to show the games they’d match one of the other 2 offers. ESPN is the same cable.

Pretending to match Amazon’s offer just to get a settlement out of the NBA is the most Zaslav thing ever

Literally just put the game on one place so I can watch please. Prime is fine since everyone has it

Does this mean we can just go to amazon.com and watch the games there? I hate how complicated it is to legally watch nba games. Hopefully this is a step towards making it simpler.

Same thing happened with WWF, USA, and TNN for the rights to Monday Night Raw in 2000.

  22. mostuselessredditor

Watching massive companies fight over this when I’m just loading up StreamEast anyway is easy work

  23. FoulTarnished22

This wouldn’t have happened if Jayson Tatum wasn’t so boring
