6 BEST Lineups The Mavericks Can Use After 2024 NBA Free Agency | Mavs News & Rumors

Mavs head coach Jason Kidd will have a lot of different options when he sets the Mavericks’ lineups for the 204-25 NBA Season. With Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson leading the way, the Mavs have a good combination of star power and tenacity that will hopefully let them get back to the NBA Finals. Will a guy like Naji Marshall find his way into the closing lineup”? Where do Quentin Grimes and Spencer Dinwiddie fit in the Mavs’ rotation? All of these questions need to be answered, and Jason Kidd will be tasked with fitting the puzzle pieces together.

  2. Who should the first guard off the bench be? Type 1 for Hardy, 26 for Dinwiddie, 0 for Exum

  3. lay-up line maxi misalot and super Dwight are worthless they should not be on the team must less ever ever ever seeing the court not in garbage time not in an emergency not cause kidd just wants to , never ever at all

  4. Bro yall killin me with this infatuation with Dante Exum🤦🏾‍♂️….At some point y'all gotta start giving Hardy more respect. He's clearly better than Exum and has more upside while Exum will NOT get any better. Can't keep saying Hardy gotta show more when everytime he does he gets benched…So I vote HARDY be the first guard off the bench

  5. Go back to the basics, reward players who do well in practice, who put in the work, who's hot, who has better +/-, make the players earn playing minutes.

  6. I can see Naji closing out games over PJ. Klay played well guarding 4s last season so I can see Jason Kidd using Naji Marshall as a POA defender

  7. no one is talking about free throw. grimes, marshall, klay and spens are very good free throw shooters. our percentage sucked last year 70.7 percent. and we lost games because of it.

  8. The best way for this team to succeed is for either PJ coming off the bench and Naji being the 4 since Klay can handle the big wings and Luka also guards up as well. If PJ stays starting and the defense works then the bench unit will be Kyrie, Spencer, Grimes, Naji and Gafford and you can swap Spencer for Exum or Hardy depending on needs. I have said since the Spencer signing and Grimes trade that Maxi, Hardy and Exum are going to be the ones fighting for minutes because Naji can absolutely play the 4 he’s got identical measurable’s as PJ which is 6’7/6’8 and 220 and both have 7’1 wingspans. I also think Maxi and Hardy should be traded at the deadline just to make sure you have a legit bench piece for the future.

  9. What’s been the deal with all the Kleber hate? He seems like a solid dude, can shoot, plays hard defense, my only guess would be his price tag?

  10. Klay is not a negative defender, klay is still a smart defender and he’s strong he still does pretty good against big wings it’s really just shifty quick guards that he can’t keep up with so against most teams Mavs could easily close with him at the 3. I get he’s much slower now but why does everyone act as if he’s just terrible now like did yall only watch his lowlights on social media then call it a wrap?

  11. Giving Grimes a big break here and starting him over Klay. The reason is that the second unit would then be Dinwiddie, Thompson, Marshall, Kleber and Gafford/Lively. High quality group that can compete with anyone's bench and most starting units around the league. An embarrassment of riches thanks to Nico.

  12. Well yeah, you're talking 100ppg from your starting 5. I'd start that too. I just hope they find a way to get the non-Luka minutes to have Klay and Kyrie on the floor so they are maximum efficiency. Also, I'm hoping they find time for Gafford at center and Lively at PF. That would be an interesting pairing, especially if Lively develops his outside shot. When they play teams like the Wolves, it would be nice to see a big on Towns and Reid. Also let's max out that rebounding. Get the Mavs from middle of the pack to top 10.

  13. Weirdly I'm most excited about the bench on this team. It's like the starters are kinda known quantities and we can all see that unit should be tops offensively. But that bench depth is what will set the Mavs apart from Denver and OKC. There's nobody in those top 9 guys you can sleep on or leave open. I think Hardy will develop a solid role as well. And Kleber can hand out orange slices at the end of the game

  14. PJ needs to work on his awareness on defense and offense. He literally was lost on defense during the Finals and he was not cutting to the basket enough when the eyes were off of him.

  15. I like the lineup of

Starters: Luka, Kyrie, Klay, Naji, Lively.

Bench: Spencer, Hardy, Grimes, PJ, Gafford

Closers: Luka, Kyrie, Naji, PJ, Lively.

Notes…exum, hardy, maxi might be interchangeable depending on how the night is going. If we are not using either of these 3 then we need to think of trade options to clear up cap space and bring in another PF or C.
