I guess people forget there's a cap floor and they have to spend money somewhere to reach it. That can't be on rookies or prospects. That's why there are any old players on the roster at all.
Happy about Gill. Also the story about Valanciunas going to the Lakers was originally posted by a Lakers fan page. It wouldn't make sense from the Wizards perspective to move him at the deadline because who on the roster would take his place? Vukcevic isn't ready, Bagley's always hurt and Holmes isn't a starter. Not to mention the Wizards would be looking for top picks in exchange and the Lakers don't really have a lot.
I'll keep saying it. Do not expect for the Wizards to only be made up of teenagers and early twenty somethings when they're ready to compete. Not saying that any of the people who are currently on the team will be there but they will need adults in the room.
