Great pickup for the Nugs. Much cheaper than Reggie. Hope he can hold it down with the second unit

Just hope Brodie doesn’t chuck his way out of rotation lol

  2. The1AndOnlyJZ

Did this dude really have the leverage to force a player option on the deal??

  3. imlikeNEO

Honestly think he’ll be a great fit for them

  4. I still can’t believe that the Nuggets chose him over Tyus Jones – it’s been a mixed success the past few seasons for any team that’s had a player that advocated for Russ.

  5. If I had a nickel for every time a team exactly one year removed from a championship lost KCP and got Russell Westbrook in the same offseason I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.

  6. >Deal has a player option for 2025-26 season

Utah has a chance to do the funniest thing.

I like Russ for Denver. I doubt he even plays a ton with Jokic, they just need someone to make things happen when he hits the bench, and Russ will do that (sometimes)

A Russell W in Denver. Let’s see how this goes.

Why the fuck does Denver keep giving every backend rotation player a player option?

Reggie Jackson, Dario Saric, now Westbrook

Another player option after they had to trade 3 2nds to move Reggie Jackson

Danny Ainge rubbing his hands right now. He knows he’s going to pick up another 2nd round pick to take Russ off Denver’s hands next offseason.

As a nuggets fan I kind of know how this will end up but I have convinced myself he will be great and different for the Nuggets

I haven’t been the biggest fan of Russ even before he started to age and form even worse habits, so to say I’m nervous about this move is an understatement. In the end I think the hope is he can basically do a better job generating offense than Reggie did (most nights not the highest bar, unless Reggie’s shot was falling, which was wildly inconsistent, he would regularly kill offense by dribbling the air out and chucking).

I’m really curious to see how Russ rebounds for us if we’re not funneling boards to him to push the pace, because more rebounding for our second unit would be a major boon.

I think we now know that BlackedBiJames is Westbrook’s biggest hater lol. Dudes replying to every comment shitting on him.

Brodie comeback season would be cool but idk

Reggie Jackson replacement nothing more nothing less.

Not bad, hope it works. That depth on the nuggets ain’t looking to pretty.

Westbrook was so good last year. Like he had so many games where the clippers were completely flat and his energy and playmaking is the reason they won a handful games. He would have stretches especially in first half’s where he was there best player even when everyone or mostly everyone was healthy. I’m not even a Russ fan but he is still a useful basketball player his sub is way too low on him. And yes I know he was terrible in the playoffs

Playing with Jokic has made a lot of bad players look pretty damn good. I have faith that a future hall of famer will have a damn good time here

Russ getting the player option is something a lot of you here noticed, not sure if the average/casual fan may realize that’s a bigger deal than it looks like on the surface. But the player option is something that gives these players security and power and it’s become a really important bargaining tool.

I think Russ is gonna be productive in the regular season for Denver playing with Joker/Saric but they do not have a tremendous amount of shooting around him off the bench. Can expect to see quite a bit of Russ with the starters in a Bruce Brown like role with Jamal staggered with the bench. We saw less of that last season for Denver. Think that’s the best way to attempt to elevate the bench and elevate Russ.

The Nuggets really did have a use for a dynamic guard, push the pace/transition guard, attack the basket/break down the defense guard like Russ. He’s not gonna bring the defense Bruce did, but he can potentially provide more juice in the halfcourt. Someone with that kinda reckless energy and ability to cut off Joker….let’s see how it works.

As an OKC fan who lives in CO. I’m so damn excited to see Westbrook play again.

All Western Conference teams seems happy about this, that shit look like a rare substruction by addition.

I honestly love the – WB is just there to be the 6th man like it wasn’t the role, he had with the Clips but he failed even as a 7th man.

I guess it’s the last chance for WB to play winning basketball, let’s see how it’s goes because the memes would be glorious lol.

MITWesbrook is writing those novels about how Jokic should let WB be the main ballhander as we speak.

  23. johnjohnjohn93

Russ will opt into his player option and get waived again next year

  24. Crafty_Effort6157

That Supermax contract didn’t age well.

  25. Somehow Denver got worse with this signing lol. What a complete shitshow of an offseason for Denver.

  26. raceforseis21

I can’t believe this is the nuggets arch

  27. paddiction

It’s crazy to me how Westbrook keeps getting these player options and then using it as leverage to get more player options

  28. TreeFiddyBandit

I too have been thinking of moving from LA to Colorado

  29. LanaSwiftFan

i hope he has a horrible season and loses them many games… lol jk i dont have to hope. it will happen 😂😂😂

  30. JoeFreshness

this whole saga is so confusing. WHY DO THEY WANT HIM?

  31. spizcraft

So… Booth signed Reggie to a player option last year then dumped 2 second rounders to offload it this offseason. Now he’s offered nearly $18m and player options to Saric and Westbrook, who were not in trade talks with any other teams as far as I’m aware. He just recently signed Zeke Nnaji (a third string PF who can’t stay healthy and has regressed and lost confidence) to an absurd 4yr/$32m rookie scale extension. He also traded 3 seconds for Thomas Bryant right before the title then dumped him for nothing months later. And he traded a second to move up 2 spots in this year’s draft to pick Holmes, who immediately proceeded to tear his Achilles. Bad luck, but the cherry on top of a brutal series of moves.

If Saric and Westbrook don’t fit and he dumps even more assets next offseason to unload these player contracts he is for sure out in Denver.
