The EuroLeague MVP Hated The NBA So He Quit

Sasha Vezenkov just signed a historic contract with Olympiacos returning to Europe after just one season in the NBA. The EuroLeague MVP last summer signed with the Sacramento Kings and was supposed to be the missing piece that could help them compete for a title. It didn’t work out for Sasha Vezenkov in Sacramento and the Kings traded him to the Toronto Raptors, and after a crazy saga that lasted over a month. The Toronto Raptors waived Sasha Vezenkov and allowed him to return to Olympiacos. Where he will return and try to compete for a EuroLeague championship after falling short previously.

  1. When Vassilis Spanoulis was on Houston van dummy treated him like a rookie and went on to be Euro league mvp possibly back 2 back

  2. He would've been so perfect playing alongside with Kobe during his 2nd championship run

  3. Softest Euro talent to ever play in the NBA so far! Great skills but a strange mindset. He doesn't want to grind and earn his spot in the NBA. He prefers the superstar treatment he gets in Europe.

  4. Most NBA teams are just utterly IGNORANT on how to properly utilize European players. 🫢
Time to come back home, Sasha.

  5. he can go back to Europe to continue to be a bum playing against non athletic whites. Good for him I guess. Big fish in a small pond. Cant hang with the best after only 1 year. Stays comfortable back in Europe.

  6. You are not correct about his salary. 4m/year is after taxes in Olympiakos. In the NBA 6,6m/year was without taxes. Actually he is getting more money in his current contract. Also his contract is in euro which is a bit more dollars.

  7. It is not the King's fault. You cannot have a black hole in the post defensively. Love Sasha but he is not an NBA player

  8. Classic mistake on net and gross nba money, Oly give him an nba analog contract of 8,5 mil$ ( 4mil€ net) Nba contracts are gross meaning that raptors 50% canada tax is like 3.3 mil$ thats 3 mil€ net …its like 25% less

  9. Lmao dude, legend of what Bulgaria lol Greatest Bugar of all time?! I just love when I'm right. Only people who don't know shit about basketball could say he is going to be any good in the NBA with that body/size/skill. Like dude is so trash he failed in the most euro friendly team in the league. Greetings from land of true MVPs and champoins, Serbia!

  10. There is zero defense in nba compared to Euroleague cmon. The kings were absolutely loaded in the wings, Barnes, Murray, Huerter, Lyles…

  11. All this happen to steal the hurt of the leader of Oly woman me team in water polo)))…who cares about money!

  12. wasted opportunity it is hard to go to NBA than going back to euro even pat beverly get a contract again in euro. he must not like playing or preparing for a yr. the NBA has so many games compare to euro

  13. Taxes in California and Toronto are two highest of the four worst, so the 4 million dollars was probably more than the 7 million dollars he was making

  14. They didn't utilize him for shit in Sacramento. I wanted to see him succeed so bad. That lightning quick release and elite off ball movement is the stuff of legend.

  15. It is funny how he respects neither his commitment nor the contract, and you're making it sounds like he is the victim. You take a gamble on yourself, and if it works out, excellent. If it does not, well, you honour what you signed up for. This is a total lack of professionalism and the Greek fans support this? Well, probably tells you why the country is the way it is. Either way, he made a choice of trading honour and dignity for more money and the enjoyment out of playing ball, I hope he does well, but it's going to be a black mark on him forever.

  16. Keegan Murray outplayed Euro superstar!
That’s all you need to know.
    He was waived for $0.

  17. Who held him against his will? He was under contract the he’s required to complete. The raptors wanted him, Vezenkov didn’t what them. He was the diva in this story. When he got traded rumors immediately started floating that he signed a deal with the Euroleague. If anything, the raptors lost here because they traded for the guy they wanted to have but the player is acting out because surprise, NBA players are better than players in euroleague and he didn’t expect to be a bench player.

  18. 1:26, what? Who the fck in the right mind comparing a 17-18 year old dude who plays below 18 minutes a game to a 27 year old dude in the peak of his prime.

  19. Teodosic is a horrible example. He was like 40 when he came over. Had he been in his prime, we would've seen a different player

  20. It is funny that he signed already contact with euroleague team bigger than in nba. His contract in Olimpiacos is 5year 20mln after tax, it means 4.4mln dollars per year. In nba his contract is 20mln $ per 3 year. After tax it would be around 3.5mln $/year. So his contract in Olimpiakos is + ~1mln $ greater

  21. That’s hella funny cuz I remember you were hella meat riding him talkin bout he bout to be a sniper n this n that to end up like this 😂
