Why A Bruce Brown Trade Could Now Be IMMINENT For The Raptors

The Toronto Raptors could be closer than they have ever been to trading Bruce Brown and it all ties into Masai Ujiri’s front office waiving not only Sasha Vezenkov but also Javon Freeman-Liberty. With this additional cap space opening up, the Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly re-opened their interest in trading for the 2023 NBA champion. In today’s video on Amateur Hour Sports, Jacob Gramegna goes over what the Lakers have to offer and if the trade makes sense for Toronto.

  1. If I were the raps I'd take Russell, Reddish and Jalen Hood. Then use Russell as a trade chip as a trade chip to get some more draft capital.

  2. Trade Idea –
Raptors Get: Rui Hachimura, Jarred Vanderbilt, 2026 LA 1st Rd Pick
Lakers Get: Bruce Brown, Ochai Agbaji, 2026 Toronto 2nd Rd Pick

  3. Hard to move BB now because he didn't play that well last season. Instead, keep him on the team this season. Since it's the last year of his current deal, he'll want to play his best so he can get a big contract from another team. If he does in fact play well, he should be much more desirable at the trade deadline, so that's when I think trading him might yield the best return. Also, don't want a veteran in return since this is a rebuild team – want draft picks or young guys.

  4. the lakers have always made sense for me and Vanderbilt is a dog – the kind of player we need – I think if its Vanderbilt + salary filler + FRP, the raptors should do it. Plus sooner you get a deal done, faster you can begin game planning for next season. I wouldnt sit on this too long

  5. Bruce for Cam Johnson still makes sense. Bruceciw expiring and I believe Cam has 3 years on his deal. Sassy ones will want to argue though.
