Legendary. Our thoughts to his family from all of Houston. I am 47 and my life is better because of Gene Peterson.
My fav announcer of all time..I remember my favorite game he announced was Miami heat vs Houston in Miami..where Maxwell shot last second shot from mid court going out of bounds..that game is pasted in my memory…Gene tempted me to even listen to Rockets game on radio versus tv..
Thanks so much for this tribute. As a Houston native I've been a Rockets fan since they moved here from San Diego with Elvin Hayes. In the early television days I used to turn the TV volume down and turn on the radio to listen to Gene. Great memories. The Rockets had the best with Gene & Jim and Bill & Calvin.
