Likely very unpopular opinion: Wiggins probably didn’t want to play and the Warriors agreed to take the heat for it.
Wiggins has played for Canada a single time since 2015, always skipping out for *various* reasons/excuses.
First it was issues with Jay Triano, then he didn’t want to “commit for 3 years”, then it was upcoming contracts, and now it’s a team commitment.
Everyone here is right that it didn’t make sense that the Warriors allowed Curry to play but not Wiggins. Even worse, it doesn’t make sense that basically *every team in the league* has allowed their guys to play internationally outside of specific reasons.
Wiggins not being allowed to play by the Warriors is nonsensical, and him not *wanting* to play matches with his general attitude over the past 9 years. I don’t think he wanted in.
