The problem is that he plays the same role as Lebron. They’re both offensive hubs with shot making and creating ability for themselves and others. Of the 2, Tatum is probably a better player right now. He’s a much more consistent defender and rebounder. That said, this Olympics is about Lebron. He was the flag bearer, he’s the chosen one even oif he isn’t who he once was.
Tatum isn’t going to get minutes over him.

Good. I’d hate for Tatum to rack up wear and tear for game against Serbia (that we won by 30 without Tatum). I want Tatum to rest up after that long finals run, and be available if Team USA actually needs him, but there’s no reason for him to pick up unnecessary mileage.
