He obviously hasn’t shot great, and doesn’t deserve to be playing starter-level minutes especially when they’re showcasing the Curry/Bron/KD trio, but to have zero role for him at all is insane. He’s 6’10”, can guard 5 positions, and do everything on offense. Like why is Bam shoe-horned into all backup PF minutes? Some of Jrue and DWhite’s minutes could go to him too.
Feel like a lot of the issue stems from this apparent “need” to force a square peg into a round hole with Embiid. He’s the one guy on the entire roster that doesn’t fit what the team is ultimately trying to do on both ends of the court.
I think Tatum is too passive and should actually be demanding to play minutes. You can’t expect to be the face of the league when you allow yourself to be benched in an Olympic game given your resume. Maybe this is the slight he needed to start demanding his respect
