Bulls didn’t need a special guy.
No one wanted Dennis after he was with the Spurs because he was too much for any organization to handle. Phil Jackson knew what Dennis was about and Dennis knew what Phil was about. They respected each other. Dennis respected Jordan. Dennis didn’t respect Pippen. Dennis didn’t respect how Pippen punked out over a migraine when it was Bulls vs Pistons in that epic Playoff battle.
Phil saw the perfect opportunity to create the greatest starting lineup, greatest team, and the final 3-Peat in the history of the NBA. No other team other than the Lakers, which was coached by Phil Jackson, has ever done.
