Decade long still standing franchise-record 62 points, 1/24/2014

As a lifelong Knicks fan through the ups and downs…Melo should not have a podcast. Every episode reminds me why I could not stand him on the Knicks.

  3. ShawshankException

Uh oh, that one dude who fucking hates Melo is gonna be so mad when he sees this post

  4. DuaLipasClitoris

Melo really outing himself as a clown this summer

  5. Struggle2Real

    Legendary
Never forget the force that the Bobcats were at this time.

  6. CarmeloManning

Why do people have an issue with what he’s said?

  7. snrcadium

I know Melo is regardless a bonafide HOFer but his post-playing career has been very validating to those who always believed he was a toxic player who didn’t contribute to winning basketball.

62 was a fun moment but my god he was such a drama queen during this game. Like he wanted to be taken off the court like Kellen Winslow or something

  9. The_Royale_We

Cool, is anger the reason he never played defense too?

  10. patrickthunnus

His talent is undeniable but his motivations and drive that he is sharing only damage his reputation; a self-inflicted wound.

This past year, Melo has been trying his best to go around anywhere and everywhere trying to rewrite history to paint himself in a better light. He’s doing such a terrible job at it too because it kind of reaffirms all the negatives about him. He should have just ridden off into the sunset and take his well deserved probably first ballot HoF but nope. He just has to dig up old things and failing to clear his name.

Does he have multiple podcasts a day? Jeez hes been saying alot…

  13. And people want to put him in a class with Ewing/Clyde/Reed in Knicks lore. He’s Stephon Marbury with more powerful friends in the league and media.

  14. m0nkeyhero

Don’t these rich dudes have PR people on retainer to tell him how this aint it?

  15. Electronic-Doctor110

And clowns were saying he was blacklisted from the league fuck outta hea. He’s not good, period.

  16. UnhappyTelevision243

Shameful how negative this sub is on Carmelo

  17. steelgripphoenix

You guys are upset because he said he was mad over his losing streak?

The 2nd best player on the team was JR Smith, followed by Pablo 😂

  18. swarshmallow103

Reading what he said, they were losing (5-game losing skid before that game) and the pressure from fans was getting to him, which is why he was mad at everyone. That anger pushed him into his zone, leading him to score a franchise-record 62 points.

But the main takeaway here is that he’s egocentric, dumb, a narcissist, toxic, etc.? Sounds a lot like the Julius Randle thumbs-down debacle to me.

  19. Be careful, the melo jock riders in this sub are just as bad as the lebronettes. It’s pretty odd.

  20. HokageEzio

I’m really not understanding what people are upset about from this quote…

Ok, he heard people talking so he went out and had a crazy game. How is that any different from a player picking out some guy in the crowd who is talking shit and having a crazy game? How is that any different from you guys booing the team when they’re playing badly because you want them to play better? For a bunch of people who claim to be a tough fanbase some of you guys are mad sensitive lol.

7 ain’t in the rafters and it never will be

  22. GreenEggzAndSpam

Melo is a loser and I’ll say it every time one of these many clips of him putting his foot in his mouth is posted

  23. GroundbreakingCat355

I’m from Cuse. Melo is my favorite athlete. I wish so bad someone near him would take the mic 😂 I love the dude but I gotta work so much harder to defend him ever since he got a podcast

  24. IsaacClarke47

I get he’s a former Knick, and this is a Knicks related quote, but can we focus more on our glorious current Knicks?? Melo has been popping up way more in this sub since the team has been good – guessing he’s trying to cash out on the last franchise that still tolerates him.

  25. Any-Advisor7067

Damn, lotta lames in the thread lmao. Melo’s cool, the Knicks have been a historically bad franchise for a variety of reasons and it’s weird to me that one of the few players who at least made the games entertaining to watch for a while gets made the poster boy of Knicks failure. The Dolan propaganda strikes again. No, he wasn’t a team player or leader of any kind, and no, he wasn’t going to succeed their in the ways that matter to fans and the franchise, but he was a hell of an offensive player and had one of the best jump shots in the game. Melo kept the Knicks cool for a long time.

Anyway, grateful for the situation we have now, I’m just gonna focus on being happy about that.
