2014 San Antonio Spurs | The Perfect Team

2014 San Antonio Spurs | The Perfect Team

It’s been 10 years since the San Antonio Spurs defeated LeBron James and the Miami Heat by a record finals margin. The 2014 Spurs may not have been the greatest team of all time, but an argument can be made that they played the best team basketball. Behind all time greats Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili and boosted by the best supporting cast in the NBA, the Spurs took it to Miami and the rest of the league with lockdown defense and unreal ball movement.

  1. Wemby had the best rookie season in NBA history….Yeah, I think MJ averaging 28-6-6 would have something to say about that 😂😂😂

  2. I never understand why this team is never considered one of the greatest team ever? the Beat prime lebron with ease

  3. I swear, every time I watch these guys, the Blazers will always get mentioned even if they have no relations to the main topic of the video, and I love it 😂

  4. the fact that the Spurs haven't won a championship since is unsettling, considering just how good they were for so long (even when they weren't winning rings)

Also, the Spurs as a whole just don't get the praise that they deserve, period. Duncan is a consensus top 5-8 player OAT, yet it still feels like he is still so underrated

  5. Yes!! this team has special place in my heart. I remember watching the 13 finals in my room thinking holy fuck we gonna get our 5th chip! Then the shot I still won’t watch to this day happened and fucking was in tears cuz everyone in the world knew that series was over. So for my spurs to come back the next year and absolutely obliterate Lebron and the Heat by a NBA finals record margin was so satisfying. My favorite title ❤

  6. I love your guy's videos cause it feels like I'm just listening to a conversation between two buddies with excellent memories.

  7. In terms of the closest loses in sports, you should look up how Liverpool came 2nd to Man City twice and both times were ridiculously close. One time it literally came down to like 15mm

  8. As a Spurs fan, this was easily the most satisfying title of the five.

I’d have to think the 2011 Texas Rangers were the only team closer to a title without winning it.

  9. The spurs have always been a consistent franchise until post Kawhi where the spurs went into a developing phase
Hopefully Wemby can get the spurs some rings

  10. Great video fellas 💯 I love how y’all breakdown endings & key moments of all the playoff games instead of just skipping to the result of the series like a bunch of YouTubers.

  11. The ball movement, the unselfishness of the team, and a legendary coach leading the way. Such a legendary team and a legendary title run

  12. I had an idea, that has nothing to do with this video. What if during the all star weekend, only all stars were allowed to compete in the dunk contest and the three point contest? There would be pushback from the players, but I think it would work.

  13. One of the most annoying teams ever.

By 2014, everybody outside of San Antonio was tired of the Spurs who were basically a houseguest that overstayed their welcome.

Was anybody REALLY clamoring for another Spurs rerun?

  14. I'm glad they mentioned the 2013 Spurs cause they were like a Tim Duncan bunny shot away from winning that game 7 too. I wish that 2014 Spurs team lasted longer. They'd be a true dynasty if the core was just like 3 years younger. Old Boris Diaw was out there playing like Magic Johnson making plays.

  15. Regarding the statement you made about ‘its hard to think of a another moment when a team came this close and lost even in another sport’, the 2022 FIFA world cup comes to mind when the defending world champs France nearly came all the way back but lost against Argentina.
