I don’t think many of the big name athletes are staying in the village lol. Jokic, Giannis, SGA etc. All of them can afford some 5 star shit just outside of the village so they probably are.
To be honest if I was a world class athletes in the medal race I’d do everything to prepare for it. If that means sleeping in an actual bed so be it.

The Olympic village while protected is not controlled by Team USA nor the NBA. Think about the the cost and damage to the NBA if there was a terrorist attack. The best players in the world are playing and an attack would damage the league for decades.
