Randle already took less I wouldn't do it again no matter what happens Randle it's up to you don't be forced into taking less
I believe Randle deserves more than OG Annunoby he already gave us a discount. It just isn't fair to give OG All that cash he's done absolutely nothing for us but get injured twice.
Randle never took less. The 117 million dollar extension he signed for was the most he could possibly get. The only way Randle could have gotten more would have been to wait and enter free agency, where he was not guaranteed to get more. This "pay cut" stuff only applies to guaranteed max players like Brunson. Randle is not a max player, hence the suggestion he would need to take A LOT less to get his extension done (from a team that paid OG 212.5 million). The Lakers gave up on Randle and New Orleans let him walk for free despite the fact he was healthy and productive for both franchises. He was available after the Knicks missed out on KD. Nobody was willing to give him more than the 3 years for 60ish million the Knicks offered.
Knicks fans don't get it. Randle was extremely fortunate to get signed by the Knicks. He could have ended up like Colin Sexton ( a guard who put up good numbers but whose play style was not seen as something you could build around). Or worse, he could have ended up like Montez Harrell (a bully ball forward who put up good numbers but whose play style was not seen as something you could build around). Randle doesn't have a role on any other contender in the league. If the Knicks are not willing to pay him the 4/181.5, then nobody will. He has more value to the Knicks than he would to any other team. If he leaves the Knicks, he won't be starting and finishing every game unless he's playing for a bottom feeder team. He's not a centerpiece to a contending team.
RANDLE IS NOT GOING TO TAKE A PAY CUT. BECAUSE THEY GAVE OG A LOT OF MONEY. AND RANDLE WANTS THE SAME AS OG AND I DOINT THINK RANDLE WILL TAKE LESS THAN OG
Randle shouldn't get paid more than 33 million max per season..
Pretty much, Knicks are in a rare position due to JB singing extension early, and it really behooves the Knicks to keep the flexibility it brings open. Randle seems to understand, and is confident betting on himself/waiting and not much to take from it if true, other than everything is well!
Honestly Randle does deserve the max if you ask me. I’m not going into why tho. I could tell you that if we do win a ring this year which is possible then Randle will get his bag
Randle is the cornerstone of the Knicks Brunson is the face with that being said trading Randle is senseless unless its for someone like Giannis.
Randle is a max player, I would take it all. If Randle takes a huge discount, I guarantee the league will investigate the knicks
I don’t see why Randle wouldn’t take a little over the JB deal especially if he wants to win and it’s still more than he is getting now. OG didn’t owe us anything the way current Knicks do so I see why OG got paid and the rumors of him maybe getting a max from a rival team was real. Randle has never performed well in playoffs and 2 big injuries in last 2 years is real. I do think we can win a chip with Randal, money just gotta be worked out
Trade Randle for Jaren Jackson Jr. He is a CAA client and will most likely be cheaper moving forward. He is also about 4-5 years younger than Randle.

They’re basically asking Randle to sign a four year extension for ~$150M, a ~$30M discount. I’d love to see it but doubt Randle does it, especially after OG’s $212M deal. OG really screwed Leon’s plans. (Overpaying for Bridges did too. If Leon could’ve kept one of the firsts, we’d have Kessler or Durant right now.)

Randle came here and put on that orange and blue while KD and others cracked jokes about the Knicks not being a "cool" team to join. The dude is one of the top forwards in the league 3x all-star/ 2x all NBA.
Dude, this is more complicated than just, Jalen did, so Randall have to do it. The best time for both parties to do this is next offseason season.

The NY Knicks don't trust Julius Randle's performance in the playoffs and the games he has missed due to injury in his career. The Knicks will wait till next season to sign an extension for Randle, if he performs well.
