I am curious how many Warriors fans will translate into Valkyries fans. I know the team has a lot of hype and they have already sold 15,000 season ticket deposits, but I believe in order for the team to remain sustainable, it will need to attract sports fans of all types including the large fan base who already heavily support the Warriors. The Bay Area seems primed for their own WNBA team. The question is how loyal will the fanbase be in order to keep it sustainable?
On separate note, if anyone is interested, I started up a r/valkyries subreddit to have these types of discussions as well as news and events about the Valkyries.

Absofuckinglutely. My aunt used to take me to Sacramento Monarchs games growing up. Was bummed when they disbanded. Glad they brought a team back to NorCal and it’s even better that we have a team in the Bay.
Sabrina ionescu is from Walnut Creek…hoping she eventually signs with the Valks as a sort of homecoming

the next WNBA class doesnt seem to have as many stars as this year did, but if they hit on one for their lottery pick they will easily sellout games as long as the tickets are fair and they have a star that is marketable. Lacob said he wants to win by year 5 so maybe they will be drafting for upside and i know nothing about the WNBA salary cap and free agent balance so i’m assuming their success will really depend on them landing a face of franchise asap

Yes I am.

I’ve got a deposit down on two tickets. I think it’s going to be more fun than going to the Warriors games in a lot of ways. Hopefully the pricing will be reasonable when they finally start selling tickets.

Nah. I’ve only gotten so much time for sports.

I will hope they do well while not ever watching them.

Shit, I just this season started really paying attention to the wnba because I’m looking forward to having a team to root for next season. I tried watching in the past but without a team to root for it was hard to get invested.

Won’t become one because I’m a warriors fan from Seattle

Call me crazy but I’m equally excited about the Valkyries opening season as the Warriors 2025-2026 season.
I would not be surprised if the Valkyries break the WNBA attendance record in year 1. This is an area that loves basketball and loves pro sports.

I never really tuned into the WNBA but now that we have a local team, I am extremely excited to start watching them.

Yes, but I admit I’m still not crazy about the colors.
