Underachieved team success, despite the title, but created more NBA history making moments in Lakers uniform.

“Let’s force a team up (with the league not being able to do anything about it) and win a ring”

The prime of our window coincided with covid. And while people want to point that the rest helped the team, you have to acknowledge that the shortened off-season pretty much guaranteed 2021 was going to be a wasted season in hindsight. And that resulted in us trading for Westbrook.

the lack of an off season recovery between the bubble playoffs and the next season is what killed our chances for a back-to-back run.

That 2019 season with the young core was nice. We were robbed of a playoff run due to injuries

How many teams would KILL for one ring, just one.

Think of the Clipper, Kings, Pels, Magic, Nets, Pacers, Jazz, Hornets, Wolves , or Griz winning just one would mean to them.

Be happy we won one, should’ve and could’ve been more, but we got that one.

  7. Anyone one who thinks the AD trade was bad is stupid and the young core we had never would have won anything

The highest point of Jeanie Buss era. Not as impactful as the arrival of Pau Gasol in terms of results, but great selling jerseys and brought us 1 NBA title, great result for an owner previously good only to collect lottery picks.

As much as I’ve appreciated lebron and his time here in LA I can’t say I’m not somewhat disappointed with the lebron era, twice the team missed the playoffs, twice the team was knocked out the first round, and the other two were a conference finals sweep and a championship. Only once have they won more than 50 games in the regular season.

This isn’t to blame lebron at all but there have been some major mistakes made from virtually all parties involved in maintaining a championship winning roster, and I can’t help but feel as though it is reasonable to have expected more success with lebron’s tenure as star, it’s mostly been a rollercoaster with middling success post-2020

It’s not WB Fault we traded for him, and he should still be celebrated for how good of a player he has been.

Lebron’s time with the lakers cemented him as the goat, all time leading scorer. 4th finals mvp, 4th ring

If AD doesn’t get hurt against Phoenix, they face Milwaukee in the 2021 finals. Not sure if we would have won, but we would have beaten Denver and the Clippers with no Kawhi.

Bron would’ve had a finals run with the baby lakers if his groin didn’t give out.

the WB trade was the worst trade ive seen in Lakers history.

It’s impossible to understate just how bad Russell Westbrook was for us. Genuinely 4 on 6 basketball for the vast majority of his time on the floor.

The 2021 team was better than the bubble squad. Solomon Hill and BS injuries stopped a back to back

Running it back or hour we blew it up was good equal the same amount of time rings.

As a casual fan of Lebron, I don’t understand why he stayed here if he wants a 5th ring. I have heard there are other teams who can pay his contract (OKC it is iirc) and have a decent chance at a ring for the next season. If that is true in any way, then money is not the issue wherever he go.

I understand that he lives in LA. But, we all know that Lebron knows how lacking the roster is in many things as a team to contend. I know that hamasterclass ruined the run last season but its not like we will get any better without any moves in off-season while other teams in the west upgraded.

I also acknowledge that he wants to retire here but at the cost of a chance for another ring and another year that could be possibly wasted on him, I don’t think its just worth it. Or maybe, he can sign other teams then go back again when he is ready to retire.

Or, I missed some details that’s why I am confused rn.

  19. when he tries he is still the best player on the planet

he just can’t try for 48, 40, hell maybe even 30 minutes a night anymore.

We had some dudes that played HARD on these squads. Love the fight they always brought.

  21. The 2019-2020 was better than what people thought and they proved that and we need a 30 for 30 on why that team got thrown away and not able to go back to back

  22. AD is a very good player but his lack of creation for himself and others is a major reason why this team struggles.

It’s simply too difficult to have a +40 mil player that can’t create for others and needs help getting his own shot.

That means the FO has to find role players that can shoot, defend, shot create, and play make on a budget. Turns out those guys aren’t cheap and they aren’t role players.

To me, the biggest mistake that also led to other big mistakes was not trading for lowry because of tht.
It would have been schroder, tht and a first round pick for lowry. I still think we would have won that year against the suns an probably the finals against the bucks if we had lowry instead of schroder and tht.
At that point he had great defense and playmaking and shooting everything we needed and missen against the suns.
Not trading for lowry that led to trading for westbrook wich was dumb, that led to caruso leaving which I don’t think would have happened if we had lowry because he made less money.

I seriously think we would have won 1 or 2 more finals if we did this trade

Gasol deserved more respect in 21. Played his role nicely just clearly wasn’t the same player as 19-20

2020 Lakers is LeBron’s best team, career low in playoff minutes and very clearly still had spare energy that he saved for closeout games. 2021 might’ve been up there too if they were healthy, but I think the team comp was starting to stray from Vogel’s coaching style as opposed to 2020.
