How an NBA Superstar Never Got Past the First Round

Tracy McGrady was one of the most gifted scorers in NBA history. At the time, an unforeseen skillset at all three levels on the court. But talent aside, he was never able to make it past the first round.

Join me as I delve into the story of how one of the game’s greatest talents was repeatedly halted at the first playoff hurdle. First, he left Vince Carter and the Raptors to get a bigger role in the league, foregoing any chance of becoming one of the great one-two punches. A bigger role then came at the Orlando Magic collecting two scoring titles, but playoff success unfortunately didn’t come with it. He tested his luck in Houston pairing with Yao Ming, but poor injury luck followed him and this team across conferences. 2 Scoring Titles. 7 Playoff Runs at His Peak. 0 Conference Semi-Final Appearances.

  1. I'll always wonder what would've been if he either stayed with Vince, or Hill was healthy in ORL. One of the most unlucky stars of the past 40-50 yrs (even KG eventually got a happy ending with the Celtics)

  2. Man just imagine that deal goes through. A team with AI and TMac would have been iconic. Would have compete against the Lakers in the Finals year in and year out for a good while. Man what a shame that trade didn’t end up happening.
