In football/soccer all the best leagues are in Europe in which the best European teams compete in the champions League. The club that wins the champions League will never call themselves world champions and instead European champions. To me it is disrespectful to call boston World champions and not at least give teams outside the NBA a chance at that title. I agree that boston would be big favorites but no one can say with 100 percent certainty which team would win and to not even give non NBA teams an avenue to compete, completely invalidates any claim that the NBA title is a world championship
