Expected outcome given the talent we have, way too many mistakes in transition for us to take advantage of a pretty mediocre Germany game. Still great showing all things considered, if Sloukas played maybe we could have hoped for a better placement.

This was just a game were 7-8 of the 10 best players were on one team. Good fight by Greece but it is sad that Giannis couldn’t play with the country’s golden generation 🙁

Entertaining game overall happy I got to watch it. As a Giannis fan they had me believing up until the 3rd quarter then it all went downhill
For my first game of watching the Germans this Olympics they were nice with it after that sloppy start

Who was that guy that got left out in Greece’s lineup? Is he a good passer or at least an ok entry passer? Giannis was literally begging for the ball in the 2nd half but these greek guards were like “imma just dribble the shot clock and erratically pass it last second for a bricked 3”

Dennis is tournament MVP imo right now. He fits the word perfectly for Germany. I consider Franz clearly their best player but Dennis is the guy that sets the pace. I do think Franz is making a case for himself there though. He has been dominating recently and is also defending to an elite level.
Franz was actually getting guarded. Greece clearly gameplanned for him. They wanted to force him to shoot, and collapsed everytime he took a step past the arch.
The great thing Franz did was he kept being shifty. Once he started his motion, he always made it to the restricted area. He missed a few by a rim out but the pressure Franz exerted on Greece needs to be talked about. Franz dominated Greece in the isos despite them collapsing on him. Greece imo is the best defensive team at the Olympics not named USA or Germany. They play physical and generally defensively disciplined. Franz was the best player this game. He really is looking like a superstar.

It turns out that Giannis wasn’t crying because he qualified Greece for the Olympics. He was crying because he had to play more games with those guys.

And… we sucked again. By now I thought that some people in Greece (EOK) understood that Antento (under FIBA rules) is not Nick Galis. You cannot expect him to win you big games almost by himself. He needs a LOT of help from his teammates.
