Stars never go to Utah anyway. Maybe it’s because Lauri can make 24 million more this year, but no Star has said “I am willing to stay here in Utah”, Lauri has said that. To lock down an All Star willing to stay in Utah is something any general manager of a Utah Jazz team should immediately do, unless another team got crazy and offered something the Jazz couldn’t refuse

Best news I’ve had in a long time. I’ve spent way too many hours talking shit with GS fans about how this was the only option unless they paid up big money. Also, love Lauri and truly believe we can successfully build a championship contending team while keeping him.

> The Warriors made the most aggressive offer, centered around Moses Moody, multiple first-round picks, pick swaps and second-rounders, team sources from both sides said. Utah wanted Brandin Podziemski in any theoretical deal. The Warriors were protective of Podziemski in the Markkanen conversation and a few other leaguewide trade proposals this summer, league sources said.
How does this affect our chances of getting a good pick for 2025 draft? Will we be too good to tank? Honestly asking.

Great news! You simply can’t let a legit All-Star who wants to stay in Utah walk during his prime. Jazz FO is smart enough to still tank without Markkanen on the roster.

Regardless of how this pans out long term, I’m just so sick of broader NBA fans treating us like we’re a farm team and that they’re just owed our guys once they get big. Hopefully this sets a precedent, but we’ll see.

Woo 🥳
To celebrate he should take a well deserved one year break so we can tank in peace lolol. I don’t trust Lauri not to drag us into the play in somehow

Warriors fans can’t fathom somebody preferring to be in Utah than California.

That [trade proposal](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5683827/2024/08/06/lauri-markkanen-jazz-extension/) was not it.
