We can find a future PG in any other draft of similar ceiling to Podz. I like him but come on, he isn’t going to do anything meaningful in Steph’s time here.

  2. spidermanisthebest

we’re investing the future in someone who’s ceiling is josh hart!!!!

  3. TheninjaofCookies

This quote gonna age so crazy in 4 years when Steph retires having been a max 9th seed for the remainder of his career and Podz signs a 3+1 year contract with the Qingdao Eagles

  4. MixInfamous6818

does Lacob treat him as his own finding?

  5. Spirited-Sea-4047

so what really happened today was the FO choosing which timeline they wanted to go with . got it , the future is now ! well see yall when the season starts lmfao

  6. RonnehPC

Man even as someone who’s remained optimistic that is an egregious oversell on Podz potential. I hope he can prove me wrong

  7. Sufficient_Space_453

this mofo better start making those terrible hookshots then lol

  8. healthywealthyhappy8

I don’t see it. His primary defense is taking a charge. His scoring is subpar and he shoots the 3 at < 40%.

  9. LordJxnkulous

I do not see it one bit. Bruh is a backup build, and not starter material.

  10. Sausage-Missile

Trade Steph to the fucking Lakers if that’s how they feel

  11. asBad_asItGets

Why are they talking about him like he’s a generational player? The future of the franchise? Really?

  12. Everyone shitting on Podz but Utah obviously wanted him – we can be disappointed we don’t trade him, but he obviously has enough value that two organizations see it.

  13. sloppymcgee

I’m not saying I agree but let’s be honest, back when the dubs traded Monta Ellis many of you did not think Steph was the answer either.

Edit: please stop replying that young Steph was better than Podz. That’s not my point

  14. pilotway

I love podz but can’t help but feel their over hyping and getting drunk on their own kool-aid.

  15. Accomplished_Iron805

Don’t they have their guard of the future in Curry? No other franchise does this to their star players except the Warriors.

Do you think Milwaukee is planning their PF of the future, after Giannis? Are the Lakers or Nuggets preparing for their Foward or Center of the future?

I wish they would finally pick a decision instead of doing this back and forth of competing now and in the future. The future is after Curry retires. If they don’t want to compete NOW then tear it down.

  16. FO is doing their best to force Steph to “ask for a trade”.

  17. rational_numbers

I love Podz but this is getting to be too much tbh

  18. To all you haters, I’d rather trust current leadership who’s delivered amazing results for almost a decade, if they say they want to invest in Podz, I will give benefit of the doubt until proven wrong.

  19. Unlucky_Intention654

Imagine value a unathletic low ceiling rookie guard over an all star can actually help curry😂

  20. Fabuloux

I have no idea how someone can watch this dude play and think he’s the future of the franchise. He’s solid – sure. But he can’t score, isn’t athletic, and doesn’t do a single thing exceptionally well outside of taking charges.

He’s a reasonable passer and a decent defender but his physical tools are so limited that he can’t move the needle for us.

If BP is ‘untouchable’ then Steph’s final years will be wasted in mediocrity, real shame.

  21. laneyNzack

It’s guard of the future not star of the future. I’m thinking the Warriors value his skillset a whole lot when surrounded by great players. Maybe he’ll be the Derrick White for us someday.

  22. D3struct_oh

“They view him as the inheritor of the Mamba mode.”

  23. SunRa777

Just trade Steph and Draymond then. It’s over.

  24. PlzTellMyWiFiLoveHer

Theres no fucking way this is true.

  25. livecents84

Letting Klay walk was really the 1st step in tearing the team down. Pretty obvious now they’re not interested in trying to compete for another championship with Curry, rather planning for the rebuild after.

  26. bmeisler

Either the Dubs see something in Podz, in practice etc, that I don’t or aren’t smart enough to (entirely possible), or they’re getting high on their own supply a la Wiseman (Podz obviously better, but same idea). Passing up Podz for Lauri is either going to look brilliant or an all-time flub in a year or three. Anyway, still need to get Steph some help NOW.

  27. EmploymentDizzy1307

He is not going to be that lol. If he’s the Warriors future, they will be dumpster dwellers for a decade.

  28. PotTwister

Maaan Lacob is setting Podz up in a bad way. I want him to be a great player but it could take a while before we see his full potential and there is no guarantee his full potential is better than what Lauri is now.

I feel like this was a pride decision by Lacob more than it even is about Podz.

  29. sugarwax1

I regarded Lacob as a hero, but I think he’s lost it. Warriors ownership needs to take control of the team from him. I think that’s mostly Gruber who at least knows how to run a winning sports franchise.

I’m starting to think they do want Steph to leave. Or he’s basically told them, or they took his Olympic comments too seriously.

  30. neo9027581673

I don’t think it’s “Podz” as in “MJ.” It’s more likely that Ainge (as always) overreached. He wanted every last valuable piece in Golden State’s possession AND ALSO PODZ.

That’s just crazy to give away damn near every draft pick, pick swaps, Kuminga, Moody, and Podz and for who??? Paul George? Nah. Lauri. No thanks.

  31. 147Wildboy

This is actually crazy. I genuinely don’t get the hype. He’s a decent role player and that’s about it. He hasn’t shown anything that would make me think that he will be the future guard. There’s no way you watch him and think “that kid will be Steph’s replacement one day”. I understand our team wasn’t good last year and Podz was a bright spot but don’t massively over rate him because of it. This is what I was scared they were gonna do. If we actually just missed out on Markkanen because we didn’t want to put him in the package, that’s a horrible decision.
