I mean, you’re not wrong, but playing like ass for a long stretch was what fucked them.

Can’t win if you only play one half of solid ball. Refs didn’t help but they absolutely were not the reason CAN lost.

Did he have his forearm slapped during each of his ten misses when he shot 3/13?
The refs stunk, but everyone besides JR and Shai were absolute dogshit. The lack of objectivity in these takes is pretty sad.

Yeah, so many missed calls, but everyone expected home-cooking coming into it, and we would have needed to be actually better than France by a significant margin to make up for it, and we weren’t.

It was over by then. Terrible shooting night in an elimination tournament is death in FIBA, whereas in the NBA you come back the next night and win with the exact same performance and get right back into that 7 game series. Nature of modern basketball clashing with bracket format. That, and Wemby had great d in the clutch.

reffing was shit but that was a big time choke job

That’s how the Mavs beat the Wolves in [game 2 of the playoffs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDr6WR7xCE8). It’s crazy there’s no way to challenge clearly intentional fouls.

Not blaming the refs at all but I was wondering why we didn’t challenge? Pretty sure we finished the game without using it. why not take the free possession?

They played like crap and this loss is on a lot of factors… but that was up there with one of the worst officiated games I’ve ever watched and felt early like Canada never really had a chance.

It’s a foul. Felt bad in the moment but the better than won today. I don’t think calling this one a foul would have changed much.

I think France is still shooting free throws as we speak. Seems like every possession they got a call from the refs.

The ref is right there lol. How do you not make that call.
A lot of things led to Canada’s loss today but by far the blatantly biased refereeing was the single most important factor.
