Consolidation Trade Targets for the Indiana Pacers

Consolidation Trade Targets for the Indiana Pacers

We are back with Pt. 5 of the 6-part mailbag! Today, Alex and Facci dive into one of the biggest topics from this offseason and moving forward: CONSOLIDATION TRADES! Yes, there are a ton of fans who DO NOT want the Pacers to make a drastic move and disrupt the current roster, but there are SEVERAL fans who are incredibly intrigued with the idea of making a BIG MOVE to better the top tier talent on the roster. Alex and Facci discuss this for a majority of the episode and then dive into some other non-trade questions at the end.

We talk about consolidation trades because of to many players with similar size & skill sets vs. playing time. We rarely address what position or particular players we want in return. So with that in mind each of you give us an actual trade that you would like to see.

Who do you think is going to get dealt in a consolidation trade (it is almost inevitable) and what do you hope to get in return?

Colts Commentary @ColtsCommentary

Unrealistic/ impossible consolidation trade targets that some fans might bring up

Etan @Etan387

If u could pick one all time pacer to put on this team not named reggie miller who would it be?

Evan Noggle @EvanNoggle

I’ve heard rumors of a potential rebrand. Is this the right time? What would you like to see in a rebrand for this team?

  1. With the pacers style of play, depth is Uber important. Is a consolidation trade even necessary? Some lateral moves for payroll purposes, definitely. But not selling the farm for an over rated star type.

  2. Haven’t seen the video yet – but we missed our consolidation trade target in Deni Avdija. Didn’t even know he was available but if you look at his stats, age and contract he’s the perfect wing that the Pacers definitely need.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we go for Cam Johnson and I don’t think either Nets or Pacers fans will actually enjoy that trade. Cam is really old (29 this season before the playoffs) and he’s a finished product at this point. Great shooter but really poor rebounder for his size.

I’m just really disappointed we didn’t get Deni honestly – there aren’t any other wings of note on the trade market that I think would make the team notably better

  3. Trades will be needed, but not now. Too early with this topic. See who fits, who are overlapping players this season. The CBA will be a big factor.

  4. Anthony Davis? No way, he isnt the guy everyone thinks. Cant carry a team and can barely carry himself on the court without hurting himself. Anthony Edwards is a definite 'go for it.' I'd give up whoever except Tyrese. Go Pacers!

  5. George McGinnis on a high pace team. Speed length and athleticism as small forward. Someone who can average a double double.

  6. The biggest position we need is small forward and realistically Cam Johnson and Kyle Kuzma contracts could fit in. Johnson’s shooting would help Haliburton in the starting lineup and maybe Myles takes less money if we make the right move. I really don’t think we can keep Turner and Mathurin on the same team so one has to go and I would rather have Mathurin but if he wants to start then we have to move him. If Turner wants the big money then try for the big man Neemias Queta since Haliburton likes him from Sacramento. Queta and Wiseman are both young big athletic players and reasonable contracts. Cam Johnson would be a perfect fit for the Pacers in my opinion

  7. Mathurin got that dog in him more than anyone else respectfully
You don’t trade people like that who got that dawg in em if he was a bit taller and played defense that’s out ANT man right there
