Another notable part of the article:
> The Warriors are holding high value in their younger pieces, sources told ESPN, including Podziemski and fourth-year forward Jonathan Kuminga. **Any trade incorporating either player would have to help with the long-term success of the team more than they would, sources added.**
The insinuation, of course, being that they didn’t believe Lauri would help their long term success more than Podz would.

This is just the standard diplomatic way of saying “we won’t trade the farm out of desperation for someone like Ingram or LaVine right now.” If a legitimate needle-mover becomes available around the deadline, I would be very surprised if the FO doesn’t show any interest.
Ohmeygaz
The only way that makes sense is if they genuinely believe Draymond Green will hold up at center, which just seems unlikely given age, injury history, and his love for getting suspended.
Right now you’ve got a 10 man rotation of Steph, Podz, Wiggs, JK, Dray, Melton, Hield, Moody, SloMo, TJD. That’s a good group of players, but obviously very small in a league that has shifted more and more to playing with size again (look at how much players like Jarrett Allen and Hartenstein got paid as proof of that).

Reasonably available = Not even for AD or Giannis we will give up Podz or Kuminga.

This is a standard stance of any team. Teams don’t leak “we are desperate!” to reporters.

I think warriors fans had such a good era of drafting good players they want to see development more than trading for players

why force and overpay – every year at the deadline and in the offseason, there is going to be a star who is disgruntled

Taygads are you trying to be a reporter? The way you misrepresent articles to farm engagement is really second to none.

Whether or not people believe this, this is a good thing to say if you don’t want to have to pay a “desperation tax” in a deal.

Hope we at least trade Moody to a suitable team. I don’t want to see him getting mistreated here any more.

The way OP chose to post this…
The Warriors themselves have said they want to add a second creator next to Steph, they tried, they put multiple lightly/non-protected picks on the table, at least one of their young prospects, and some salary to try and bring in both PG and then Lauri M.
They know this isn’t a contending roster but they’ve made the best moves they could. I think they will still be on the lookout for another move to make but as they have said and others have said at this point there aren’t a lot of high end names where they would be available and it would make sense for both sides.
I’m excited to see how this season goes. This is another one of those big “IF” seasons but IF Andrew Wiggins comes in ready to play like his first year and half w/the team, IF Draymond Green doesn’t get suspended, IF the young guys Podz and Trayce take that 2nd year jump, IF JK explodes to near All Star level play in this contract year, IF Steph stays healthy and plays 65+ games, IF Melton’s back is fine, IF Buddy adapts to a 6th man role well, then this could be a fun team to watch, a winning team and a playoff team.
I’m excited about next season.

Dunleavy, wisely is not going to tell the press anything when it comes to any moves the Warrior FO might be considering.
