Hopefully we can do a sign and trade for him because I do not believe he will be worth that extension. Would love to be proven wrong

  2. jafahhhhhhhhhhhhh

lol, I’d like two of whatever the fuck they’re smoking.

  3. If he wants that then he has to prove it this year first. It’s not off the table, it’s just not a sure thing.

  4. neuralnutwork42

well he better put up or shut up. if he wants a max he needs to be a second option steph can be confident in

  5. Iron_Chic

If he wants a max deal, he needs to have a max deal season.

Poole balled out for one season, got his bag, and has since regressed.

We don’t want a repeat of that. Why do some of theae kids wait for a contract year to ball out? Do it from the gate and you could name your price

I love JK, but he hasn’t done anything yet to even sniff a max contract.

Gotta love talented young role players demanding max extensions to completely fuck up their teams salary cap while simultaneously wanting to be on a winning team.

     Pure delusion.

Since when is 16/4/2 getting 26 minutes a game worth a FULL max contract?? Dude better take a huuuuuuge leap this year for any shot at what he’s looking for.

  8. I hope he gets a max, b/c in the current NBA climate with the harsh second apron no team is tying up ~25% of their cap space for the next 5 years just to stick it to the Warriors.

So if he gets a max that will mean he played well enough to earn it. One good thing about the new CBA and it’s harsh penalties for deep tax repeaters is that the days of a Jordan Poole type player earning a near max extension are over.

The team will offer less, and if Kuminga’s side thinks his free agent value is strong, he will decline. It’s exactly what happened with Harrison Barnes. I saw the same angry fan comments then. “What has he ever done to turn down 4y/64m?”

    Then he signed for 4y/94m.

And I want him to go full Siakam. He’s going to have to earn it this season, he’s not a max player yet, but I can see why he thinks he is. The custom suede capes aren’t going to pay for themselves.

  11. Jicama-Smart

no s, and I want more than a 3% raise this year… doesn’t mean I’m going to get it!

  12. Used_Water_2468

Duh he’s looking for a max. Who isn’t looking for a max?

  13. What do you guys think he would have to average stats wise to earn that?

  14. kanabalizeHS

There is nothing wring for him to ask. It is FO job to evaluate and negotiate.

  15. People have already said it, but I wouldn’t pay him this until after this he proves it this season. Can’t have a repeat of Jordan Poole, especially now with this new CBA.

  16. theghostfacekilla

Lmao feels like you gotta earn that first?

  17. healthywealthyhappy8

He best play amazing this contract year.

  18. sneakyrumble

Offer him a lower extension, he hasn’t proven yet that his worth a max. If he rejects it, has a huge season and goes to free agency, you can still match any offer since he is RFA.

People talked so much shit about Lauri’s deal when JK getting a huge deal would be infinitely worse

  21. sanjuro_kurosawa

This isn’t the first athlete to work out like a mad man in his contract year. However, I don’t see Kuminga reverting to his beer-swilling, cigarette-smoking days.

A modern athlete is trying different training methods and he has found one that I believe will turn him into a superstar. He will probably do this training every offseason the rest of his career and the Warriors will be smart to keep him.

  22. ImpossibleLeague9091

As well he should the warriors front office has been saying for years this man is untouchable. You demand the max period in that. They’re setting up pod as a max player to

  23. sloppymcgee

Gotta earn it Kuminga. Nobody is going to give you a max extension unless you perform first

  24. bayarea_fanboy

He has the opportunity to earn it this year. Show up.

  25. fender4645

I’m assuming a FA max next year could be more than a max now? Regardless though, it doesn’t seem like the FO has much incentive to gamble on a max now. If he doesn’t take the leap they’re hoping for, letting him walk after next season wouldn’t be a huge loss. If he balls out then I’m sure the FO would be happy to give him what he deserves. Unless I’m missing something.

  26. purple_cupcake_52

Obviously. NBA teams these days handing out max contracts like they have money printers

  27. RedditSuxCoxAgain

Let us see him earn it. Could be a good thing for the team or detrimental.
