  1. So if Brunson blows his knee out this year yall gonna call for the money back ESPN? Or yall gonna say it was smart for him not to wait? What about when he gets another extension down the line wihile putting himself in position to get the team he wants around him?

  2. When the NYK are good it’s great for the city of NY and the NBA. Jalen Brunson will continue to quiet 🤫 his doubters. Go Knicks! Time has come.

  3. Not everyone cares about money as much but yes $113 million is a lot of money to give up but hey if Brunson is happy and if he wins the championship With his boys it will be worth it

  4. There is a whole lot of phoniness about Jalen's contract extension. He did the right thing if you care about winning. He, his family, and extended family are set for life with the $150m extension he signed, plus the over $100m he has already earned with prior contracts. Plus the truth is that he only gave up some $35m in the long run, because this contract lines up with the new CBA that will allow him to get the Supermax contract at the end of this contract 28 or 29. The supermax will allow him to earn yearly some $80-90m per year. He did sacrifice money, but not $115m. He sacrificed some $35m, assuming he stayed healthy and signed that supermax from the new CBA in 2028. Jalen sacrificed and structured his contract the same way other champions have done in order to win. The likes of Derek Jeter and Tom Brady come to mind. Go Knicks. Thank you, Jalen.

  5. This is why we Knicks fans love this guy. He gets us. Salute to his parents as well. Great job raising and molding him in the man he is today.

  6. I love how people trying to tell him how he’s supposed to feel about his money lol. Sometimes money isn’t the end all be all for some. Let that man live

  7. I love how all these greedy people keep talking about taking the money .. Brunson has a long career ahead of him and he’s already making millions by playing a sport he loves.. he’s just trying to elevate his team and it would be nice if the media applauded that so more players would do the same .

  8. Talk to Pippen about sacrifices or mistakes when it comes to contracts. We all know Jordan played him. Knicks FO played JB

JALEN. BRUNSON A MORE ACCOMPLISHED BLACK MBA PLAYER GAVE JAMES DOLAN A " BLACK DISCOUNT" JANES DOLAN ONLY HAS TO PAY JALEN BRUNSON 37 MILLION A YEAR

  11. Brunson is the epitome of a team player. How much money does one really need in this lifetime? He’s set for life! And if he wins a chip in NY, he will be forever in our hearts and that is priceless

  12. Love Brunson. Guy's CRIMINALLY underrated and born a winner. But no he did not take a $113M paycut. That narrative has to stop. He did take a paycut, but it isn't anywhere close to $113M. He gets financial security, and can tap into second huge max contract one year earlier, which might have not happened (especially for max number of years given his age) if he waited one year.

  13. this speaks to American values money, money, money, a few seasons ago the man wanted a 50 million dollar from Dallas and didn't get it.

  14. Let’s not miss the BIGGEST point he made. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN A YEAR! Isiah Thomas (5’9” version), Demarcus Cousins, Brandon Roy and others.

He took a guaranteed 156.5 now. Hopefully he stays healthy, but you never know. You never know being the most important part.

  15. The right move. Get most money available at present time. Especially in thibs system. Rose, Noah and Deng. If he gets injured like IT Knicks can do what Celtics did and not pay him.

  16. He did what Isiah Thomas and Demarcus Cousins should had done. Secured the bag. They turned it down waiting for the bigger payday 1 yr later. Got injured and never got the bag. Jalen got the bag and will be a free agent earlier to secure another bag before he is too old

  17. When I was 13 years old, I went to a CBA game between the CT Pride vs the Idaho Stampede. Jalen Brunson’s dad Rick Brunson was at the game and took time to talk hoops with me. His dad was just a normal guy. Even though he was an NBA player, he took the time to talk to everyone. I will always remember this and still have the ball he signed for me. Jalen Brunson was raised by a great man.

  18. He's got more money than most people will ever see, I notice you dummies forgot Isaiah thomas who played for Boston ask him how waiting that extra year turned out he never got his payday, hey dummies you were the same empty heads who said the knicks over paid him when they basically gave him 104 million dollar deal, funny how he out performed that deal and set himself for this deal, you guys do know he's got one more big contract coming in three years that could reach 400 million he definitely gonna get more money and he will be 30 years old not 35 remember paul george just got his last bag 212 million yeah Jalen already got 104 million plus 156 million you do the math empty heads none of you has ever seen that type of money with another bag on the way always take sure money not in the future money a injury could happen anytime what ever injury happens Jalen still gets to keep that money
