The "defense will suck" narrative is being exaggerated imo. We got worse in defense replacing Caruso with Giddey, but we improved in defense replacing Demar with Matas. Jalen Smith and Drum basically the same in defense. Defense will be worse than before, but it won't completely suck.
That 2nd unit of Ayo, Dalen, Julian, Matas, Jalen gon be clamps.

I’ll take 13-5-5 on top level defense and top tier 3pt% than 17-6-6 on trash defense and lower than abysmal 3pt%. Like what yall are talking about lmao.

As for Zach being #7 SG, I dunno. The guard positions have changed over time. Now most PGs are primary scorers and some SGs are primary ball handlers. It usually comes down to a player's height. Should Damian Lillard be an SG or a PG? Should Steph Curry be an SG or a PG? Should James Hardin be an SG or a PG? Should Coby White be an SG or a PG? Tyrese Maxie SG or a PG? Ja Morant SG or PG? And on and on…However, Zach at #7 sounds too low when he's compared to the top 6 SGs listed above him.
Just give me 10-15 mins every other game and I'm happy for him.
if lonzo gets back to 70 percent of what lonzo was before injury with bulls…hes way better player than giddey….when you play basketball specially team basketball you cant play one side of the court…its funny how high you are on giddey when he is a liability on one side of the court…by the way you forgot that before lonzo injury the bulls is at 1st place…
even the problem with demar and lavine touches started after lonzo got injured….barring injury lonzo way better player

Just run Giddy at the 3. I think Lonzo Ball can be about the same on defense. Watch his highlights. It was quick hands, fast reaction, and jumping the passing lanes that made him a great defender. It wasn't crazy leg movements that made him good on defense, it was IQ. He'll be fine.

I don’t think Zach being at 7 is egregious tbh. The people below him I I would say he’s definitely better than. Rather having CJ instead of him is crazy to me because Zach at his best when he’s not injured, like HoopsHype said, he is elite. I remember when people were saying he was a top 3 SG just two seasons ago
Thoughts on Onuralp? His contract is perfect and seems like a solid fit for the 2nd unit next to Ayo & DT
