OP’s choice — Not sure if it’s even the most memorable shot of Steph’s Long Career.

Recency bias. Ridiculous shot but they were up 6 when he hit it. He’s hit more “memorable” and important shots

Don’t agree but I’ll take all the national Steph propaganda we can get

With the fait of the universe on the line 😱

I mean, it only happened 3 days ago so it’s definitely/necessarily “more memorable” than something from 10 years ago.
Also, this had more viewers globally than any other Steph game. So if we’re talking about what people collectively remember, it helps to have more people actually see it.
It’s easy to throw this away as recency bias, but I don’t mind it at all. It was built on a decade and a half of amazing memorable moments. Let’s check back in in 10 years though. I got the BANG BANG OKC bucket and this one.
Edit: the most memorable shot can only come from the greatest shooter ever, so I’m conveniently ignoring everyone else 😁

Hard to disagree…..the stakes here were HUGE (not just to fans, but especially to the athletes). Plus, the fans of every NBA team in the U.S. were pretty much in solidarity rooting for the same team. Throw in the fact the opposition sold out 100% to stop him, he left LeBron & KD wide open to call his own shot, and the sheer balls it took to throw up that shot in that moment……damn Steph is one of one.

Too far. I love that the rest of the world has these moments of Steph fandom…. but no.

Yeah in terms of a world event
The build up of star power on the team is INSANE. Decade+ of build for each of those players and hits a nonsensical shot like that.
The world (because the world watches the Olympics) will remember that shot and the shots leading up to it more than any other shot.
If you ask anyone outside the U.S “Do you follow basketball?” There response will be “ehhh, I watched some of it at the Olympics” and if you ask “What’s the craziest shot you’ve seen” they will say “Steph’s last shot”

This is the definition of recency bias

It’s in the conversation, I think.

2016 OKC shot still GOATED

You have to remember — this is the first time a decent amount of basketball fans have had the opportunity to root for Steph. It’s been a decade of him crushing their spirits, so when the occasion arises for the entire nation to experience a Curry Flurry during the most crucial moment of the Gold Medal Game, it’s legendary when Sky Fucker delivers.

not the most individual memorable shot. but those 4 shots strung together – in that situation, no commercials – is unbelievably memorable

Problem is… especially for this sub…we have seen this shit on too many occasions to count. It was great as far as being on the world stage and the stakes but we’ve that same guy pull up from mid Court for game winners.

That was just Sunday for Steph Curry

probably the most memorable to the widest possible slice of Americans given how many of them aren’t dubs fans… but for us I dunno if it’s in the top 5?
gavinashun
The camaraderie and joy of this Team USA was off the charts.

The OKC deep three is slightly more memorable to me because of the back and forth nature of that game hanging by a thread.

i almost want to say all 4 shots IN A ROW was just one giant dagger
Raonak
I think it’s his best shot ever because of the overall context.
3 threes leading up to it were insane, and to then nail a 4th.
In the clutch moments of the olympics. In front of the world. With a team of all stars who were just as giddy as us.
And topping it off with a night night celebration.
That’s a goated moment

It felt like the US was lost on offense and all the momentum was with France before Steph went cheat mode. The last 3 pointer was the most ridiculous heat check over great double team defense, how could Steph even see the basket? I agree it’s #1.

We won’t really know until more time passes. But I saw the MJ shot over Russell, the Ray Allen shot, and the Kawhi shot all in real time.
The Ray Allen shot wasn’t really talked about quite as much directly afterwards. It took on more significance after they won the next game. The Kawhi shot definitely got talked about for days afterwards with the four bounces.
The MJ shot was the talk of the summer. It was just so beautiful. He hit 17 footers again and again, especially in the mid 90s, but that one really hit different.
The Curry shot – I dunno – I have been thinking about this since it happened. We’ll see if it continues to inspire.

When is a Curry statue gonna appear in Oakland?
