At 100% health, reg season minutes will be:
JB 35, MB 35, JH 30, DD 30; Nova 4 total is 130 minutes with DD and MB primary back up PG
JR 35, OG 35, MR 25; Starting Bigs total minutes is 95 minutes.
The remaining 15 minutes divided among Precious and Sims. Yes, Deuce is odd man out 10th guy.
1. Deuce is more of a SG than PG and no way Dante and Josh play under 30 minutes so that Miles McBride can get minutes. Deuce is 10th guy in a 9 man rotation, like he was at start of last season!
2. Both MB and DD are better on ball PGs and aside from better defensively too have years of chemistry with JB and JH. Knicks are way more potent with any Nova dude than Deuce.
3. After trading IQ and Grimes Deuce was next man up and 9th dude – but now we have MB.
4. No way Deuce plays in 65 games, starts in 14 (or any) and averages 20 minutes! Unless catastrophic injuries like last year.
5. DD and JH start on 80% of teams – Deuce starts on 0 %
6. With some (normal amount) injuries, B2Bs and blow outs, and Tibs giving Deuce as many minutes as possible out of loyalty and chemistry, Deuce will average about 10 minutes at most.
7 We lost a Big who played 25 minutes and gained an elite Guard so of course bottom man (Deuce) takes biggest hit while Sims role becomes more important than Mile's.
8 JH and DD both balled out last year and played 31 and 33 minutes. 30 minutes for both is all the reduction coming.
9. Cam Payne is insurance piece only with 1 year deal holding down 5th PG (behind JB, DD , MB then Deuce) till next year when Kolek is elevated as Tibs don't play rookies. As he is a natural PG he may bump Deuce then – but thats next year.
10. 1 of 2 7' G leaguers will be on 15 man roster. When Mitch is out used for emergency and garbage time only as Juju will play 10+ minutes at PC with rest divided by Precious and Sims.
