How come our locked on Spurs is so bad?

Before i went to reddit this is the only page where i get some of the spurs news, But i imeediately notice that the host of this podcast is such a casual that sometimes he doesnt even know
what he is talking about. I wish locked on spurs is run by someone who really care for the spurs and do reserch before speaking on a podcast not just a bunch of nonsene.

I’ve never bothered looking for a decent spurs dedicated podcast. It’s always felt like PaTFO policy to keep cards close to the vest and family business stays family business. So unless it’s former players opting to break the trust, it feels like anything spurs related will have just as much information as an invested fan.

  2. I am not knowledgeable, but I think it’s based on volunteers to run the teams channels right ? I don’t think he has been handpicked based on his Spurs or Basketball skills.

He’s so bad that you think he’s an IA like those youtube IA videos because the subjects are fucking awful, he’ll pick any rumor even if it’s from a hobo from a city 5000 kms away from San Antonio and make a video about it making films in his head, he should stick to tweeting anime gifs

SSPN is the best Spurs podcast so far, sadly they don’t create a lot of content but their work is great

Oh man don’t get me started. I can write a whole paragraph. Is he a casual yes so very much. I’m pretty sure he does it because he has to do it now because he wants to. If so there wouldn’t be so many audio issues, video issues, etc. I watch other locked on podcast and they seem very more professional.

Now I’m just venting but there was an episode a couple of days ago where they just kept going on and on dog pilling bronny. Like we get it but don’t keep putting the kid down.

Small market bias is infrequent, but truly a good spurs podcast. Tynan knows the spurs well and is knowledgeable about the league at large, giving good perspective on the spurs in the context of the broader league.

SSPN is solid. Very much “fans perspective” but they do a decent job nonetheless.

I wouldn’t mess with any of the other podcasts.

  5. My theory has been that we can’t really have a good podcast because the front office is so tight to the chest and does everything they can to limit player drama.

It’s so bad! Jeff Garcia clearly doesn’t “get” or care about basketball and it’s just his assigned beat with KENS5. I wish we had a weekly podcast that was better. Garcia isn’t just bad at names, stats, etc he has the worst takes, like shockingly uninformed takes. Since he edits it (and does so poorly with ads cutting in randomly and audio issues galore) he never gets challenged by any of the 3 ppl he has on the show

Hate to pile on the guy, but I get so jealous when I watch other Locked On pods.

If you really want a daily basketball podcast I highly suggest No Dunks. They been in the game for over 15 years. Dropping daily nba podcast or during off seasons entertaining wacky episodes

  9. Yeah it’s not great and not really for just one reason either. I know a few people mentioned that the Spurs keep info close to the chest, but a lot of the other locked on team channels don’t seem to be super keened in and they’re still solid.
