Why should we care what Trae thinks about our players

  2. crabmusic

Cool does what what Trae young thinks have tangible effects on what Sarr does on the basketball court?

  3. Flyersandcaps

He’s probably right but we already knew that. Hope this gives Sarr some
    Motivation.

  4. A. Why does Trae Young care?

    B. “we good as he is?” He’s not good, he’s historically awful looking.

  5. SongYoungbae

He’s not wrong. Hopefully, he’ll be a good starter though

  6. SlightBelt2481

Sarr gonna prove any doubters wrong. 20 PPG and ROTY is what hes gonna get next season and itll be beautiful when it happens. Ik he was inefficient for the most part in NBA summer league but plenty of other stars like Trae himself have been whilst there’s been guys that dominated summer league and struggled in the NBA. I think he will look better offensively at PF next to actual NBA players + Valencunis will make his life easier. Just gotta work hard. That and I think Poole could be an all star next year if the Wizards win enough games. He averaged 22/4/8 on 56 ts% in his last 10 games on the Wizards and he played PG in all 10 of them.

Trae knows a thing or two about not being a franchise player

  8. MUFFlN_MAN

I think Young is right, but I also think that was true of everyone at the top of the draft. This will probably be one of those years where the best players were drafted outside the top 5

  9. vikr4msri

You guys realize he’s only saying this cuz his team drafted Rischer and he wants to boost Risachers confidence.

Odds are neither of them are a franchise player but if I had to put my money on one of em it’d be Sarr

  10. MaddAddamOneZ

We’ll see if Young ends up being correct. We did know Sarr is exceptionally raw and summer league made it very clear he has a lot of work ahead of him, especially his offense, before he can be counted on as an NBA regular, much less franchise piece.

  11. WizSkinsNatsCaps

I mean he’s not wrong. Likely outcome will probably end up being a good role player or straight up bust. With how bad he looked in summer league, I think expectations have to be adjusted for this kid. It’s going to take time and hard work and even then, I’m not confident it will be enough. Way too many holes in his game.

  12. ParkingEcho4347

And if he’s just a solid center, that would be bad ?

  13. Joshottas

He’s not wrong, but there is a long list of guys who are multiple time all-stars, have all-nba nods, championships etc., who are not franchise players. This isn’t a slight like folks think it is.

    Idk that this huge news.
Kind of worried about anyone truly believing he will be.

If he does, that’s nothing but a blessing from God. Other than that, he was a #2 pick only because of how generationally weak this class was.

He’s a late top 10-15 pick in a normal class.

And I like Sarr, I hope he pans out to be a really good player.
I just think we got bad luck in getting such a great pick and such a shitty class. Gotta be fair to Sarr, it’d be unfair to put normal #2 pick expectations on him.

🫡Sup. I’m sorry but my Long-time /Fan Amateur GM instincts tell me to give him 100 NBA games before I can even determine a high priority player’s full capabilities. Short-term (late 1st and all 2nds) guys I have to get an early vibe on as to not holdup a roster spot too long. Both Will and the Summer League coach said they were, on purpose, going to stress test Sarr in those games to do things he doesn’t normally do. Then in training camp see what develops. So Mr.(I already reached my peak) Trea can kick rocks while he leads his team nowhere 👍

Yo, hawks fan here who watched PG’s podcast. He just meant that Saar was not a Wemby or Zion type prospect who was going to come in right away and transform the team’s record alone in the first season without any help.

They were mostly chatting about it being a weaker draft where there was no Wemby so a lot of teams were looking for a top role player this draft.

He followed up by saying he thought Saar was gonna have a long career ahead of him in the NBA and to not worry about Summer League performances, cause he like Saar, had a shit summer league performance lol.

That’s my yap quota reached today. Lol

Alex should have no shortage of motivation this year

If Sarr can be the third best of our lotto picks in 2023-24-25 then we’re sitting pretty.
