I played weekly for 20 years, and I can tell you that technique is still needed. I have no doubt that he could spike right over most blocks though w/a little practice.

The thing I hate about this photo of curry shooting “over” him is that he didn’t shoot over him at all, he shot past him and his blocking hand is clearly winding up. He was too late, not that the shot was higher than his reach
