You can go and watch any game on Youtube, this was not a rare thing, he did this multiple times every single game. This was his game.

If you look at videos of “old” players most of them don’t pass the eye test anymore. Jordan does though. I don’t think it’s an outrageous claim to say that nobody in the NBA can do this since him, not even today.

Still the GOAT. Thank god Jordan was born when he was and not after the 3p revolution. He’d feast in today’s game but he’d be a completely different player and we wouldn’t get as much of this acrobatic rim penetration with more outside shooting. Scoring is up, the game is in a great place today but there are some things that were better when Jordan played and we wouldn’t have seen those things to the same level if he came into the league in 2024.

Dude didn’t even lift until midway thru his career. That movement is a gift from god. The ultimate pin in the genetics vs hard work debate

Bro had kyries layup package in the 90s, mixed with a 6’6 frame and 45 inch vertical. Dude was just different. Absolutely ahead of his time skill wise.

And KDs midrange jumpshot. Just crazy. Along with Gary Payton’s on ball defence

  4. ComprehensiveFig837

People say it’s Kyrie, but MJ is the best below the rim finisher in NBA history.

  5. Shybanian

His ability to palm the ball with ease is such important aspect to his game. This is alone such a huge advantage on his drives to the rim, pass fakes, and pump fakes. So smooth.

  6. No_Stay4471

Yes, Jordan is the greatest scorer ever, but we’ve seen some guys be nearly effective. What I really appreciate no one has done it with as much style, creativity, and sheer entertainment value.

  7. The combination of vertical, hang time, and sheer agility has yet to be matched in the NBA. It’s a lil absurd tbh.

  8. The one handed mid air pump fake is something that I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone else do, at least not regularly. Just an insane combo of hang time, hand size, and coordination that has not been replicated.

  9. WinterCareful8525

It’s people who think he wouldn’t be cold in the modern era.lol.

Showed these artsy never watched sport girls a highlight vid like this and they were entranced by the way Jordan moved. They saw the artfulness in it.

Then played a bron vid and they were immediately like turn it off. Make of that what you will.

I know many trying to dimnish his talent these days but man, I still haven’t enjoyed watching anyone else play as much as I enjoyed Mike. For me he’s the best ever both fundamentally and aesthetically. On top of that no one tops his swag too. and I’m openminded to acknowledging all the talent I see

  12. EcstaticActionAtTen

Mj used use to jump…do his taxes, call his grandma, clip his fingernails, hit a layup and then land.

  13. I’m glad that I was able to witness him live as a kid, and even though I didn’t see the young and athletic version of him, I saw the return from first retirement version. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player come close to how great Jordan was.

  14. The thing about Jordan is that he was both the most athletic player AND the most skilled player.

It’s like if you combine Steph and Lebron into a singular player.

That, plus the 2x threepeats is just impossible to replicate.

  15. depressedblondeguy

You watch most players, and were probably taught to release any type of shot at the apex of your jump. A lot of these clips from MJ are showing him release the ball just before he lands.

  16. MartyMcFleww

How is the greatest layup in NBA history, against the nets, not here? Where he triple pumps in the air and kisses the reverse. He was the greatest to ever do it.

  17. Miscellaneous_Mind

He had them mitts on him didn’t he. Palming the basketball as if it was a football.

  18. Broad-Part9448

I watched him during these games as a kid.

Back then they let defenses do anything. They didn’t let any guards get into the lane. And if someone did manage to somehow do it defenses would make sure they didn’t get a shot off.

Jordan would somehow go everywhere he wanted. And he seemingly dunked at will. At least that’s how it appeared back then

  19. Broad-Part9448

Surprised they don’t have that famous shot from the Nets game where the Nets bench turns into fans and goes crazy

Imagine a current player with Kawhi’s mitts and post play, Kyrie’s layup package, KD’s midrange, Ja Morant’s athleticism, Tatum’s durability and LeBron’s work ethic and commitment to the game. And you might have a player resembling Michael Jordan

  22. So, he was faster, stronger, and jumped far higher than all of his peers while being the most skilled when it came to touch and post work. Like taking a bigger Anthony Edwards and giving him Kyrie finishing with more explosiveness while being a hyper efficient jump shooter.

  23. cleaninfresno

Bro the one at 0:58 is fucking absurd. It literally looks like it’s edited or a video game or some shit.

  24. background_action92

Lol. I was watching the highlights of the Goat and then suddenly found myself freestyle over the beat

  25. Baby_Yod4

This man would’ve been my favorite player growing up if I’d seen him. I get why the older crowd doesn’t care what Lebron does after watching Jordan. I really couldn’t get a grasp for how athletic he was due to how bad quality a lot of videos are. The clear videos however look like it’s straight out of a video game. Man is Mario jumping in real life

  26. R-O-U-Ssdontexist

I don’t understand why he didn’t just throw his body into the defenders and get an and 1 everytime.

  27. 80’s Michael Jordan

    80’s Mike Tyson

LA Raiders Bo Jackson (5.4 ypc)

    Atlanta Falcons Deion Sanders

    90’s Roy Jones Jr.

    Orlando Magic Shaquille O’Neal

All of these players/athletes during this parts of their careers was something that I had never seen before and still haven’t.

  28. Literally genetically engineered for basketball. 6’6 with monster hands a crazy vertical
