Wisconsin has the largest German population in the US, so I’m sure he woulda felt at home.

His jersey is the only one I ever owned and I’m not even a Mavs fan (Kings fan here). Loved watching his 2011’ run.

Poor guy had to settle for brisket over cheese curds, so tragic!

Dirk and Steph could have been in Milwaukee.

Which other superstar almost went to Milwaukee?

Bucks would have made the finals in 2000 if they had him too. Dirk would have been putting in a consistent 17/8 a night

The real question is if Giannis would’ve been in Milwaukee’s radar if Dirk were still with the Bucks around 2012-2013.

Dirk (and Pat Garrity) for Tractor Traylor. One of the most lopsided trades in sports history.

  8. There’s lots of German food to enjoy in Wisconsin.

People forget Dirk did not have a good rookie year and the league didn’t cater to jump shooting big men. He was lucky to go to a team that was unafraid to try new things because I’m not sure he succeeds under George Karl.

It seems like so many things need to go right for a guy to succeed as wildly as Dork did, but especially considering the era, dominant play style at the time, teammates, coaching, etc. Don Nelson was the perfect coach, Cuban the perfect owner, Nash the perfect point guard and teammate/friend. Most any coach would have sat Dirk until he bulked up and developed a post game in the 90s. The 2000s opened up big men offense *because* of Dirk’s success, so without that success it’s hard to say what happens
