    Forgive me for going down memory lane for a bit. I watched this game in Cancun after finding a bar that had the right channel (shout out Tacos y Tequila Cancun). It felt like the entire rest of the bar was rooting for OKC, and for the majority of the game they had a lot to cheer about. My friends and I were going nuts by the end of the game though when the warriors finally pulled ahead. The waiters thought it was very entertaining to watch, and gave us free shots of tequila to celebrate. I walked out of there feeling like there was no way we were going to lose game 7 after that. Also, disregard the rest of the season after that series. Nothing else notable happened.

    Warriors defense in 2015 and 2016 don’t get enough credit

  3. sanfranchristo

    Iguodala is on the Mt Rushmore of defensive hands (Green may be as well).

  4. Dar8_Vader

    Game 6 Klay, Iggy guarding KD in clutch the best way anybody else could which led to ” If u can’t beat them, join them” and that’s how the best team was formed which would have 3 peated if not for the injuries.

  5. Organic_Oil_6574

    he joined GSW cause he was tired of IGGY 🤣

  6. the_new_flesh_

    Changed history for the worse that’s for sure.
    That KD Warriors run was some of the most boring ass finals basketball I have ever seen.

    Klay game 6 and Lebron game 6 are the 2 most consequential games of the past decade imo. Maybe since mj game 6 vs Utah. The 3-1 comeback in its entirety could be argued as well and there’s probably some in between that I’m forgetting. By consequential, I mean games that if they go the other way, the league landscape for the next 3-5yrs look different.

    Edit: looks like I worded that poorly. I was talking about the 2010-2020 period.

    ngl, I still have yet to go back and watch the highlights of this game. and truth be told, unless we win a championship in my lifetime, I will never watch them.

  9. Every single game that is played, technically, changes NBA history.

  10. Kobe_stan_

    Would have been nice to see the other half of the court in these highlights

    this is such a sliding doors game. had they won the Thunder would’ve had a damn good shot of beating the Cavs in the Finals considering the pedigree of the Spurs and the Warriors that year. KD would be an OKC legend, no way he leaves right away, so that team would’ve still been a relevant title threat instead of the also-ran they immediately became. the next decade most definitely plays out differently. it’s WILD that right now you’re not sure which jersey he gets enshrined with when he retires. the most logical one is OKC, but the fans clearly felt betrayed by his departure so that would be an awkward jersey night lol

    i’m kinna glad OP posted this, cuz Rob Parker (on Fox Radio’s “Odd Couple” podcast, a legendary Steph hater) the past 2 eps post-Olympics has been on this “Steph’s 4th quarter shots in the gold medal match were BIG, but not CLUTCH” tangent, and he’s going off of this asinine hyper-specific 0-14 metric Steph has of not hitting shots at the death with a chance to tie or take the lead. it’s garbage. this video clearly focuses on KD coming up short down the stretch, but in the same period of gametime Steph had about 2-3 clutch moments, including the clinching drive/bank shot over Ibaka then the steal on Westbrook’s inbound right after to seal the W.

  12. Soham_Dame_Niners

    That performance by Klay and Steph is the best shooting performance of all time

  13. I still can’t rewatch this game the memories are honestly the worst

  14. flippingdolphinsfuck

    KD is such a bitch. Wilted under pressure to cost them the game and then ran away

  15. FxStryker

    So much was skipped over. Iggy tied the game at 101 then the next OKC 5 possessions go –

    * Westbrook turnover
    * KD missed shot
    * Westbrook turnover
    * Westbrook turnover
    * Westbrook turnover

  16. transizzle

    It’s crazy how 2016 seems like the most important year in recent NBA history, and by a lot

  17. kushnokush

    I can’t believe you made me watch this 1 minute video and didn’t even include BANG! BANG!

  18. This series made me a fan of the nba that and the tnt halftime and postgame show.

  19. TheLastManetheren

    And just like that, Game 6 Klay was born.

  20. AllFalconsAreBlack

    As a warriors fan, I was so happy to see the thunder offense reduced to “your turn” / “my turn” iso with KD and Westbrook when the games were close in crunch time. I would’ve been so frustrated as a thunder fan.

  21. Ok-Task9171

    Yea this post is missing mad context but KD did in fact shoot like shit game 6(10-31), he made up for it in game 7 going 10-19 tho

  22. LeektheGeek

    This game put me on the verge of tears… worst thing was I knew what was coming the entire time. I hated Steph up until like last year.

  23. rsmith524

    That was one of the wildest series I’ve even watched, absolutely magical.

  24. nutsygenius

    Still doesn’t make sense. 1 win away versus the 73-9 team you nearly beat and u join them afterwards. Doesn’t make sense!!

  25. CJ4ROCKET

    What in the actual fuck is this edit lol completely useless stuff here

  26. Antique-Purple-Axe

    Why did we skip all the warriors points

  27. AmericaPie24

    Them boys were gassed. I don’t think KD and Westbrook set the entire second half. Same happened with Jokic in game 7 this year

  28. Ibangyoumomma

    I got blackout drunk this night cause I knew it was the series. Never thought Durant would hoe out and go to the team that beat us. But that was the end of that and while the PG melo team was fun to watch, that year pretty much started the rebuild . We coming this year tho

  29. captjacksparrow47

    If KD didn’t go to GSW, Lebron would probably have 1 or 2 more rings and and would be the undisputed goat.

  30. New-Vegetable-8494

    he couldn’t win with those cats lmao

  31. burnerpiffen47

    I can’t even describe the euphoria from watching the playoffs that year. Between this series and the finals it was just unreal. 10/10 basketball. The kind of ball you only see a few times in your life as a fan.

  32. Is this the game Draymond shouldn’t have been allowed to finish because he kicked Adams in the balls a couple of times?

  33. NotMarkDaigneault

    Google how do I delete someone else’s post 😟

  34. Pengulinoniomi

    absolute monumental choke job. i remember them up by 7 points i think in the 4th with like 4mins remaining, thinking “oh they did it”
    Imagine my shock when i find out later that they lost lmao

  35. OptimizedEarl

    He didn’t mind losing but didn’t want his teammate who was trying to be alpha and not making the best play be the reason
