The Knicks have added more depth to their roster for next season as they have recently announced that Jacob Toppin has been signed as the final two-way player for NY. During Summer League, before getting injured, Toppin was one of the players to watch, looking like every facet of his game has improved. However, even though NY has made this addition to the roster, they still have 1 remaining roster spot open that they can use to add another impactful player to the roster. Jacob has Obi traits as basketball player.
I think Skapintsev would be a good fit. He has been with the Knicks for 3 years. If they need a back up center I think he would not be a bad choice. Skapintsev can post up. I believe he has some shooting range. He just needs to have these skills sharpened a little.

Practice player, at best. I have to believe that the Knicks are counting on Mitchell being healthy all season. Either that or he’s going to get traded during the season.
